MANAGUA, July 12 /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has changed the schedule of his Latin American tour and arrived in Nicaragua for a brief working visit.
On his way from Cuba to Argentina on Saturday, the Russian leader decided to make a stopover in Managua, where he had been officially invited earlier.
At the Managua airport, he was welcomed by Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega.
Much is yet to be done to develop our relations, especially in the area of economy, but we have good base for that, Putin said, adding that Russia and Nicaragua had long-standing good relations. We admire out personal courage and the courage of your people, he told Ortega. The Russian leader reminded that the year 2014 is a jubilee one for Russia and Nicaragua, which established diplomatic relations 70 years ago.
The Nicaraguan leader called Putins visit to his country a historic event. This is the first-ever visit by the Russian president to Nicaragua, and we are very happy to welcome you here, he said.
Ortega reassured Putin that Nicaragua supported Russias peace efforts. We are ready to take part in Russias initiatives in maintaining peace in the entire planet and in its regions, he said. Conflict settlement lies not in bombing but in reasonable approaches. The most vitak thing is to lend an ear to the will of the people.
The Russian delegation to the talks included Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Russian presidents aide Yuri Ushakov, and CEO of Russias oil major Rosneft, Igor Sechin.
Nicaraguas delegation included Nicaraguan presidents envoy for trade-and economic and investment cooperation with Russia Laureano Ortega, Deputy Foreign Minister Valdrak Jaentschek, who is a co-chairman of the Russian-Nicaraguan intergovernmental commission on economic and research-technicalcooperation, Commander-in-Cgief of the Nicaraguan Army Julio Cesar Aviles, and President of the energy company Enatrel Salvador Mansell.
Putin is filling the “world leader” vacuum created by Obama. Once upon a time the US President was a world leader — now Putin is.
This is nothing more than two Communists having a meeting.

No not at all. Putin is filling the "world villain" role now that fellow villain and America hater Obama has removed the U.S. from the role as world leader.
Putin is resuming Russia’s role as leader of world Communist terrorism.
Well our president made one to a BBQ shack.
So beat that, Vlad!!!
Thanks to Vladimir Putin, Russia has better relations with countries in our own hemisphere than our own current administration has.
The last time Secretary of State John Kerry visited Brazil he was practically thrown out of the country due to Brazilian president Dilma Rouseff’s anger at having her private phone bugged by Obama’s NSA.
But if Obama can tear up our Constitution, why can’t Vladimir Putin tear up our Monroe Doctrine?
Guess the Russians are going to finish that giant airfield at Punte Huete which they suddenly stopped working on back in 1982.
A cold stare from Ronald Reagan as he read the Monroe Doctrine to Brezhnev & Gromyko is said to have interrupted its construction.
It’s going to be sweet revenge for Danny Ortega if the Russians base strategic aircraft in Nicaragua. What’s to stop them now?
Was Edward Snowden with him?
Dilma Rousseff is a Communist.
And Obama’s not?
Should we not spy on Communists like Dilma Rousseff?
Putin is being completely transparent in what he is doing, and laughing it up, along the way. It’s like the Plot from the Blues Brothers. He’s getting the band back together. Obama and the democrats are too slow witted to see what is happening and have such a warped view of the Cold War that they don’t see the consequences of a successful Putin.
I’m just pointing out that we’ve got our own communist to worry about.
As for spying, I’d much rather they spy on our enemies than on us. But, I don’t get a vote. Literally.

Is it moral to stop him?
US state dept has told Putin that an era of ‘zones of influence’ is over many times.
It works both ways.
~Putin is resuming Russias role as leader of world Communist terrorism.~
You guys are in great danger and mostly because you have no idea on what communism is. You won’t recognize it until it would be there to bite you and it will be too late.
But Putin has nothing to do about it and is about as much a communist as Reagan was a liberal. The entire idea is laughable.
As for alliances, if you were Russia, you would pick any, communist or not, as far as non-communist aren’t willing to co-operate, but instead lecturing you on values which they aren’t following themselves.
Do you think Putin realizes this trip makes Obama look even worse?
“Do you think Putin realizes this trip makes Obama look even worse?”
What do YOU think?
Notice, this was an “unscheduled visit” for Putin..
