WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Obama administration is eyeing a vacant Army reserve facility in Westminster as a possible shelter for illegal immigrant children, and it's meeting strong opposition from local officials and at least one member of Congress.
Three were no demonstrations yet in Westminster, but the opposition is just as strong as elsewhere in the country. Elected officials in Carroll County vehemently oppose using a vacant Army reserve building on Malcolm Drive to house the children, even temporarily. The Department of Health and Human Services would handle the operation.
"I don't think it's the right place. I don't think it's the right time. The bottom line is the community doesn't want it. The representatives in Congress don't want it the Department of Health and Human Services shouldn't be looking at it," said U.S. Rep. Andy Harris, R-District 1.
Harris said if the Obama administration ignores the local opposition, he's prepared to use his position on the House Appropriations Committee to stop the proposal from going further.
"We have the Health and Human Services Appropriations Bill coming to my subcommittee in two weeks. If necessary, I will put a rider on that bill that doesn't allow it to spend money in Carroll County, not for that kind of center," Harris said.

How about their own homes in their own countries? And while you’re at it, find all the illegal alien invaders and send them back as well?
And land aircraft that could take them back to the country of their origin.
Maybe we need to tell them how to break into houses and give them lists of liberals’ houses. Once they break in and make themselves at home, the liberals can pay for all their basic needs like they are members of the family. They should even be given the chance to have a say in family decisions. Given time they can even take the liberal’s job away.

Carroll Co. Site Being Considered As Immigration Shelter - July 11, 2014 - Carroll County Commissioner Richard Rothschild says he and other residents learned about this through the media. He says the federal government has "blindsided" the county. "There is a concept, a process of inter-government coordination. And the fact we found about this through the media and through citizen phone calls who were extremely angry when they read about this in the media, I think demonstrates the process itself is broken," says Commissioner Rothschild.Commissioner Rothschild says he and his colleagues held an open meeting on Friday to discuss the issue. He says he's against using Carroll County as an importation center. "Importing the problem into the United States, and possibly, in the end, leaving local communities with the responsibility in the end of dealing with this is inappropriate. And as far as I'm concerned as a Commissioner, it's constitutes a federal commandeering of the resources of a local community, and the federal government is not allowed to do that," he says. Rothschild calls that "overreaching" on the part of the federal government.
Rothschild says he and his fellow Commissioners will be sending a loud message to the federal government that they don't want this type of facility in their community. "Until at such point as they engage us in a responsible manner, the answer isn't no. It's hell no," he says.
There is lots of land n the Mexican side of the border that could be used to place the illegals. We simply occupy a few square miles of Mexico long enough to truck a few million illegals to it and then remove our troops to the border and put the area back under the jurisdiction of Mexico.
Who in their right mind would have thought that the future of the US would be too cut back on the military, close many of their bases and house illegal invaders in those bases ? Did we lose a war ? Did I sleep through the war ? Are these the conditions of our surrender ?

How appropriate! I just read a later thread on FR where the MD Governor, O’Malley, was saying the illegals should not be returned to their countries without due process.
Let’s see if he’s so welcoming of illegals if Obama has some of them moved to MD....
There was no war...it was a bloodless coup using children as soldiers.
We could also “house” them in the “vacant” houses in Central America. Which really would be the better choice for everyone involved.
Crooked lawyers are lining up to represent illegal alien “children” who will sue the government for inadequate housing, bad meals, poor healthcare, abusive treatment, sexual harassment, discrimination, and violating their civil right to transgender surgery.
Those must be the Before pictures. Give them a week.
The Maryland Governor said that the illegal children were welcome in his state.
