The case for Obama’s impeachment: The Constitution’s remedy for a lawless, imperial president
Fox News ^ | July 11, 2014 | By Sarah Palin

Posted on 07/11/2014 2:49:11 PM PDT by Resettozero

he next time you hear politicians denounce Barack Obama as a lawless, imperial president with a scandal-riddled administration, ask them what they’re going to do about it. Their gnashing of teeth over Obama’s self-granted omnipotence is repetitive.

Let’s agree with our ninth president, William Henry Harrison, who said there is nothing more corrupting, nothing more destructive than the exercise of unlimited power. We understand the problem. The only way for politicians to fix it is with a little less talk and a lot more action.

The Constitution provides the remedy for a president who commits “high crimes and misdemeanors.” It’s impeachment.

The only thing necessary to transform America into something unrecognizable is for good men to do nothing! To be clear, “high crimes and misdemeanors” are not necessarily ordinary criminal offenses. Our Framers used the term to signify a dereliction of duty, and the first duty of the president is to enforce our laws and preserve, protect, and defend our Constitution.

Alexander Hamilton described impeachable offenses as those “which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust.” He explained that they are “political” offenses “as they relate chiefly to injuries done immediately to the society itself.”

No serious person who is paying attention can deny that Obama and his administration have abused and violated the public trust and disregarded the Constitution. Let me count the ways.

Without notifying Congress as required by law, he set free terrorist prisoners at a time of war when they can return to the battlefield to kill our troops.

In violation of our Constitution, he regularly ignores court orders, changes laws by executive fiat, and refuses to enforce laws he doesn’t like, including our immigration laws.

So, one of you tell me or have SP tell me, a mere mortal and certified peon, what happens when the charges of impeachment are brought by the house and then referred to the spinate for trial and dingy harry ignores them.

Well, as a peon who is even more certified than you are, I was going to answer you, but it appears that my fellow FReepers have beat me to it.

"You look down on the majority of your fellow Americans as selfish, ignorant children."

When I run into people every day who have no idea who is the Vice President, their U.S. Senator, their Congressman, their State Senator, their State Representative or even their town Mayor, I do think the majority of my fellow Americans are selfish, ignorant children. When I speak to them about my admiration of Sarah Palin, they say, "You mean that idiot who says, "I can see Russia from my kitchen window?"" It is my fellow Americans who all politics is a joke and think by ignoring it, it will all dry up and blow away.

It is my fellow American who would rather worry about their sports team and if they have enough $4/gallon gas in their car to drive to work. It is also my fellow Christians who say, "My kingdom is not of this world." to justify their political pacifism and hope it will hurry along the Second Coming. It is these Americans who will be played like tin drums by the manipulators of the Left Wing and the illusion of the unlimited feed trough of Big Government.

Yes I have concern about my fellow Americans--the zero infobots--because they elected that Yahoo called Zer0 twice and could care less who in the hell is running this country. And this country will be running on empty before my fellow Americans start paying attention.

I share a good portion of your disdain for the average american (not capitalized intentionally). I think they should suffer greatly for their apathy.

Some of them can be turned. And for that reason, we need to give them someone to look to. Someone/People that will not waiver in the face of the media/GOP/Lib onslaught. Someone/People that stand for something. And to borrow a phrase, Stand for something “no matter what”.

Because that is the thing they lack. Everyone wants heroes. They want someone to look to. Because most won’t do it on their own. We either lead by example or they will follow the lesser evil crowd straight to their own, and our, destruction.

One way we have a chance. One way we do not. Binary.

You have been, and continue to be, duped. And it doesn't look to me like you have "concern" about your fellow Americans so much as you have contempt for them, in your high "grown up" tower.

You will lose no matter what when you come from that foundation. Based on people "you run into everyday"?? I know those kinds of people too -- they're all over the place. Most of them decline to vote, which is a good thing. The only people who vote should be those who want to take the trouble to register and go to the poll. A large portion of leftists and liberals is temporary, made up of young inexperienced dreamers who wise up to the ways of the world. You call the wised-up ones "adults," I just call them folks who've figured out that government needs to be a servant; leftists make government a tyrant, that's why leftists have to cheat.

You actually believe real people elected Obama -- twice?? That is a fairy tale. He, like many malignant officials in American government, is in office because the Democrat party has entrenched vote manipulation resources such as harvested votes, ginned votes, suppressed votes, dead votes, illegal votes, multiple votes, and outright pretend votes, to tip the balance.

THAT is the truth. Liberals are the minority in this country; it's why they have to cheat. It's why they fight voter ID tooth and nail. It's why they love Motor Voter registration. They HAVE to resort to this because they are the minority, using government to tyrannize a majority. That would be, us. "Children" and all.

This thread says it all. Impeachment is the only moral and legal alternative we have. Boehner’s suit is an act of cowardice and it will fail just as he has failed again and again. Impeachment is the one way we have to expose the lawlessness of this administration. Let it be a matter of record and let the chips fall where they will.

And it should also be a matter of record...that is, every freeper opposing impeachment. Let us all remember their names. Because we will see the same people stabbing America’s back and every time an issue like this comes up.

the same people demand lesser evil GOP. The same people suffer PDS. The same people appear on threads opposing border fences....Not every one, most. And the list of subjects is large.

Pick a random name from any of the loudest anti impeachers and rifle their post history. You will find they have taken to anti FR position on many subjects in the past. And taken it STRONGLY.

We are Constantly reaction to the lib's

You win by making your enemy react to YOU

Also they say Impeachment will get the Lib's fired up to vote in the Mid-Terms

...um....Won't it get our side fired up for the Mid-Terms Too? Getting the vote out works both ways, it will show OUR people that we are serious.

We need to spend more time getting to OUR base rather than pandering to THEIRS!!!

I could not agree more. This absolutely nails it.

I just heard two people say, “If Hillary runs for President, I would vote for her in a hot second!” They think they will get a two for one—two presidents—Hill and Bill. This tells me the average American has no clue about what the socialist Dems are doing to America. It is the anti-Capitalist Dems who are killing America. The Hildebeast will use an anti-Capitalist battle ax like a modern day Carrie Nation.

When these same stupid voters credited Clinton for giving the best economic times, I was awestruck. I am pessimistic that these same stupid voters represent the mainstream voters with Hill and Bill on their minds from some chip implanted in their brains by an alien space ship. They will forget it was the economic policies of President Reagan that set the economy on a upward path. Reagan policies also ended the Russian Empire which was a huge economic drain. Reagan policies also created declining energy prices. The Clinton era benefited from the the Internet boom and the Republican Congress led by Newt Gingrich. Much of what Clinton accomplished was by the luck of being at the right time in history. As for the Hildebeast, she certainly has had her share of luck for being the wife—even if it was a marriage for convenience.

Finally, what has Hillary done? Besides being Secretary of State, she was a U.S. Senator. Her record in the Senate as well as Secretary of State is one of underachievement. As Secretary of State, what has she done right? Hint: the melt down of the middle east.

I am not duped. I am very pessimistic from what I hear from voters—the adults—I meet in my precinct. They are telling me what I am saying to you.

I imagine the Lawless President will continue on as if nothing happened, which is what is happening now. However facts will be recorded and history will someday be able to see how the Republic died, will your name be on the list of enablers?

Methinks you have been hung up on my use of the word “adults.” Don’t be. I miss the times when the adults ran this country. Ronald Reagan comes to mind. Today, Sarah Palins heads my list.

Ironic -- Ronald Reagan comes to mind for me every time I hear someone like you insulting Americans. Reagan didn't talk down to Americans, and he didn't berate them as children. Ronald Reagan believed in Americans.

You, obviously, do not.

Right now, let it be a quiet conversation by the adults—away from the ears of the Democrat base and their zero infobots.

Okay. Enjoy your new world nation with your new number that will be required before you can buy or sell anything. Still, I recommend you refuse to accept it, although it will cost you your life.

The handwriting is on the wall and it's in English and Spanish this time so that no intrepeter is required. Cannot sleep through what's coming down now.

Do it or do not. Binary.

True.

Another problem is that many Americans have been cowed into accepting the erroneous premise that there are no absolutes.
