There were five historical State Churches: the RCC, the Russian Orthodox, the Geneva Reformed with Calvin, the Anglicans, the Lutherans.
The Pilgrim Church by EH Broadbent chronicles the centuries of persecution by the State Churches against independent believers. I'm sad to see that any Baptist church in America took the mammon from Caesar.
When the church accepts money from the government, it also allows government to dictate to it. The church accepts the bribe to VIOLATE our current laws and that is unlawful, at least. Therefore, how can the church object to the government telling them to violate its own principles and laws? They can’t have it both ways. I’d like our Bishops to show me where it says we can satisfy our moral obligations by taking money from our neighbor’s pocket - taxes. Whatever happened to, “Render to Caesar......”?
So the Obama HHS gave money to two religious organizations, at least one of which is explicitly homophobic and discriminates against women as priests?
This would be an absolute bombshell, except that I’ll need to hear it from someone other than “Liberty News” before getting too excited about it. No offense, Liberty News.
SICKENING. This is the destruction of our sovereignty, and this is a CLEAR CASE of treason by Obama.
oh sh!t
confirmation that nothing in politics is by accident
this stuff is worked out years ahead of time
by whom?
All Congress people voting on the $3.8 billion for the illegal children need to know that HHS has already paid for this from taxpayer dollars...no more.
If true it’s time for the defrocking and firing of all church officials involved.
"My Brother's Keeper" scam rears its ugly head in Washington.
WASH/POST---Community lenders network commits to lend $1 billion in support of Obama's My Brothers Keeper / By Zachary A. Goldfarb, March 6, 2014
A network of (ahem) community lenders is committing to lending (?) $1 billion in support of President Obamas My Brothers Keeper initiative that aims to boost the life chances of young African and Hispanic men.

Yawn.....just goes to show: there's always a sap-happy Dem/Lib willing to say they're "for" their fellow-man---and conniving to make a buck on it.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHICAGOLAND Rev Jeremiah's Wright's beloved daughter was convicted for looting a $1.25 million state grant which financed a tax-exempt, not-for-profit work and education program called "We Are Our Brother's Keeper," owned by Regina Evans, former police chief of Country Club Hills, and her husband, Ronald Evans Jr.
<><> 6/8/13 Police Chief Regina Evans (above) pleaded guilty to fraud and money laundering charges related to the misuse of a $1.25 million state grant to the non-profit organization she ran with her husband, Ronald Evans Jr.
October 11, 2011 ---- Police Chief Regina Evans Resigns
COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, Ill. (CBSLOCAL.COM) Country Club Hills Mayor said that negotiations were underway to clear the way for the resignation of police Chief Regina Evans, in office for about two years,
<><> Regina Evans was on (ahem) disability leave since August 2011,
<><> it was earlier reported that Illinois AG's office is suing Regina Evans' n/p over its handling of state job training grant worth more than $500,000.
<><> Evans also signed off on invoices for a controversial summer camp where the campers including children of aldermen who voted for it got paid to attend (Chicago-way--"redistribution of income").
<><> Most recently, Evans came under fire for overseeing a 2011 part-time police program where 10 part-time police officers were hired.... bur that many had questionable backgrounds, and werent qualified to do police work. They were ordered to turn in their guns and badges (got high-paid city sanitation jobs).

Send this to the many Catholics at Fox News: O’Reilly, Megyn Kelly, Bret Behr and a bunch more.
It’s not that I’m unwilling to believe this but where is the documentation?
I checked at the one source provided in the comments at the article site but it is just a PO detailing what will be required by the vendors providing the services. Where is the documentation showing those amounts of money were given to these churches/organizations?
It’s not that I doubt Obama has planned this whole thing (I do his administration did!) but to implicate these church denominations without appropriate sources seems like sensational journalism. Just my 2 cents.
If this is true...and has the endorsement of bishops...I am more than disgusted...
This is absolutely treasonous to do this clandestinely through a government agency in cooperation with religious denominations.
I haven’t given to CC for a very long time knowing SOME of the crap they are into ... but now ... if this comes out as true... I’m gonna be whopping POed at my boss.
I am praying that the SBC is not involved in this.
This is very interesting....last night on Hannity there was a nun and priest on there talking about how the church was helping with the illegals by housing and feeding them and they had “plenty” of money because people had been so generous by giving to the church. They FAILED to mention that the “taxpayers” were paying the tab without knowing it!
I am hoping Hannity will replay last nights program from the border and I’ll pay closer attention to how they worded having plenty of money on hand....
Does anyone know what Baptist group BCFS is affiliated with. Their website isn’t clear on that. It looks appears that it may not be a bonafide Baptist organization.

The government rep came and sat on the back row but the minister was prepared. Instead of a collection plate, he had a 30 gallon plastic trash can to collect the government offering
Now we know why there hasn’t been a modern day Patrick Henry speak from the pulpit. The churches answer to their true god - The Government Dollar!
I’ve tried organized religion at numerous churches over the past 5 years and just can’t find one that doesn’t give me bad vibes.
Between September 2010 and September 2013, the Catholic Charities of Dallas received $823,658 from the Department of Homeland Security for Citizenship Education Training for refugee and entrant assistance.
These middle two (and far far less expensive) outlays should probably be dropped from the argument: The US government has funded these programs for decades. My wife taught ESL in these programs back in the 1990's for Bosnian, Vietnamese, Cuban and assorted other refugees. They were given four months of assistance, contingent upon daily (all day) attendance at English class instruction, after which they were NOT eligible for unemployment and were required to find a job. Almost all of her students did very well, many of them are now upper middle class and investing in all kinds of enterprises.
The far more massive "unaccompanied minors " items are definitely suspicious.
Remember that discussion we had on the phone about budgets? Here is a clear example that nothing happens in government that isn’t budgeted for ahead of time.
