Of course, in the new Obama America, there is no loyal opposition - crucial to a democracy - but all opposition has been criminalized.

I remember the 'good old days' when it was understood the Prez had to make a case for what he wanted.

If Congress wasn't persuaded, it wasn't persuaded.

The president doesn’t seem to have to make a case for anything anymore, and in fact, what’s scary is that nobody even seems to expect him to pretend to do so.

I think one of the reasons the GOP Old Guard hasn’t been very effective is not because they agree with Obama, but because they are still playing by the old rules and expected him to be playing by them too. It’s beginning to dawn on them that this is a whole different situation. It’s a pity they didn’t open their eyes earlier, but when you think of it, his behavior is completely outside of our normal American experience and for a career politician, used to the same old same old, it’s practically incomprehensible.

That said, even some Dems are beginning to complain so I have some hope that he’s pushing it too far. This immigration stunt may be what does him in.
