The hordes of illegal immigrant minors entering the U.S. are bringing serious diseases—including swine flu, dengue fever, Ebola virus and tuberculosis—that present a danger to the American public as well as the Border Patrol agents forced to care for the kids, according to a U.S. Congressman who is also medical doctor.
This has created a “severe and dangerous” crisis, says the Georgia lawmaker, Phil Gingrey. Most of the Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) are coming from Central America and they’re importing infectious diseases considered to be largely eradicated in this country. Additionally, many of the migrants lack basic vaccinations such as those to prevent chicken pox or measles, leaving America’s young children and the elderly particularly susceptible, Gingrey reveals.
In a hard-hitting letter to the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Congressman Gingrey demands that the agency keep Americans informed about its plan to handle the growing public health crisis posed by the influx of minors. “As the unaccompanied children continue to be transported to shelters around the country on commercial airlines and other forms of transportation, I have serious concerns that the diseases carried by these children may begin to spread too rapidly to control,” the congressman writes. “In fact, as you undoubtedly know, some of these diseases have no known cure.”
Gingrey mentions reports of Border Patrol agents contracting diseases through contact with the infected illegal aliens. A few weeks ago Judicial Watch reported that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is forcing Border Patrol agents to serve as babysitters for the UACs. An internal agency document obtained by JW calls for agents with “child care or juvenile teaching and/or counseling” experience to work at the various shelters housing the migrants. Officers from the front-line agency responsible for preventing terrorists and weapons of mass destruction from entering the U.S. will be “responsible for feeding, monitoring, interacting and providing security” for the illegal alien minors until they are placed elsewhere.
To handle the escalating health crisis the CDC has activated an Emergency Operations Center (EOC), but Gingrey points out in his letter that Congress and the public are being kept in the dark about what it’s doing. “I firmly believe the public deserves to know the specific actions the EOC and other departments of the CDC are taking to combat and prevent the spread of communicable diseases,” the lawmaker writes. He goes on to demand that the CDC take immediate action to assess the public risk posed by the UACs and their subsequent transfer to different parts of the country. “I would also like information on what is being done to protect border patrol agents who come in contact with these diseases, what decontamination efforts are taking place, and what is included in medical screenings of the children.”
The administration has worked hard to keep that information secret, though some of it is slowly leaking out. One major news station reports that tuberculosis is spreading at the camps housing the illegal immigrant minors while the government downplays the severity of the matter. At least half a dozen anonymous sources, including nurses and healthcare providers, treating UAC’s at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio say the government is covering up a very serious health threat. Specifically, tuberculosis has become a dangerous issue at both the border and the camps, according to several sources cited in the story. One source confirms that “the amount of tuberculosis is astonishing.”

well one would think, if the white house was placing ads for caregivers and transporters months ago, if this had been going on over a year, they would have had a plan for screening for disease. We’re finding out more and more that ounties aren’t even being told about these folks brought into their county until well after the fact, much less given access to them in any sort of timely manner, so county health departments appear to be completely out of the loop.
Scenario: 1)Some suicide jihadies go to Guinea, Sierra Leone, or Liberia.
2)They find and isolate an infected person and take vials of infected blood.
3)They prep a fast return route to Mexico with those frozen vials of contaminated blood or OPIM as well as the nut cases who`ll carry out the attack.
4) Just before setting out with their drug cartel coyotes, they thaw and infect the jihad lab rats, then quickly run them across the border.
Incubation period is from 2 to 21 days till symptomatic onset. The rest, is to use a gunnery term, a "spray and pray" effort. What do you think?
I wouldn’t rule it out as it may at first seem, with radical terrorists it’s not beyond belief and I don’t like to ever say never.
It would have to be terrorism and with what is happening right now in the ME there’s got to be jihadis lined up for allah and his virgins.
The scary thing is the way the DHS are taking in these people and seemingly not putting them through extensive physicals. If TB is a sizable problem as it’s indicated you have to wonder if other diseases are even being checked for.
Flooding the country with illegals could be a small part of a larger and much worse plan... one more move to destabilize the country.

Some technical means might be found to spread some diseases, but it is unlikely that children from impoverished villages would be the vector.
Large numbers of teens and pre-teens arriving is not the same as the Mariel boatlift when prisons and mental hospitals were emptied. Reminds me of the story my husband told me in the late 1960s when he came back from Brazil. He said prior to a major event, perhaps a hundred street urchins were rounded up, put on a boat, taken out to sea and pushed overboard.
Given the state of mental hospitals in Central America, the severely damaged state of their occupants would make it impossible for them to survive the 1,000 trip with Coyotes to the US border. I have traveled by land as far as Nicaragua and visited a Mexican mental hospital. In fact, I would suspect that the kids surviving such an ordeal and having the will to make the trip probably are superior to the ones who stay home.

I hope that Ebola was included in the list because of the ignorance of the headline writer, and not that of the doctor in Congress. Surely, a physician would know that Ebola is highly unlikely.
Dengue, TB, swine flu, chikungunya, etc., are all real possibilities. A couple of illegal kids were recently quarantined for swine flu.
Schools open in about 7 weeks. Then the spread of these diseases will be impossible to control.

I'll agree, Gleeaikin. This situation is worse, much worse. There is an illusion being placed before the Citizens of America. Every Citizen of the United States (Black, White, Red, Green, Yellow and Purple) is being set up to lose more jobs, freedom, wages, their health and their lives ... you name it and every Citizen of these United States is going to take a tremendous loss. We cannot adopt these children. They will not assimilate to become Americans. America is going to lose and die to the invading Army of children? Strong possibility.
