I think it is wonderful to hear the blessing.......UNTIL the person writing your paycheck says to stop. Once that happens, you stop. I really don’t have much sympathy for her.

If 10% of the people who have accounts in that bank in that state close their accounts as a result of this incident, it will have a good effect. 40% would be better. But 10% is a reasonable possibility.

Employees at McDonald’s often say have a blessed day where I live. I think it’s sweet. Why wouldn’t someone want to have a blessed day? I have had waiters and waitresses say God bless you. What a sick nation we have become when people can complain about someone telling them to have blessed day and cause someone to lose their job. I am ashamed of what America has become.

Has anyone read Todd Starnes’ book, God Less America? I am reading it now. I am familiar with a lot of the stories but there are so many more that I had never heard about. I believe Christianity will have to fight to survive in America.

That’s the culture down there...as one poster has already pointed out — what about a Moslem wearing full on Islamic grab that belongs in the 7th century Arabia - what happens then...those people are bringing in their religion customs into the work place...

Everyone needs to start complaining about that when a Moslem walks around working at Wal-Mart with a head scarf wrapped around her head...like in Sterling, VA — say you are offended and point it out to ACLU...this “one sided” attack on Christian values has to be countered...

It boggles my mind that bank customers would actually take the trouble to file a complaint over something so benign. But then the world is filled with miserable old scowls with empty souls, who have nothing better to do than to try and ruin somebody else's day. They are hateful people who do not like it one bit that somebody else appears to have some happiness in their lives.

It used to be that society shunned and ridiculed them, like Miss Gulch in Wizard of Oz. Now for some reason, we have empowered them to destroy the lives of good people.

“high ethical standards”
So now expressing a Christian sentiment is unethical?
You know these bastards would bow down and kiss the dirt around the feet of a member of the “religion of peace” if it started yelling “allaku akbar”.

I’ve been a US Bank customer for a number of years, they even carried my mortgage at one point. This is not the kind of publicity they want ... it will hurt them in Kentucky certainly and elsewhere as well.

The bank should be made to produce the "several customers" and to prove the damage that was done to these "several customers". Otherwise, the claim is hearsay.

But Neace said she was told she could no longer say the phrase anymore and was later fired after working at the bank for 24 years.

This actually might be more of the reason than anything else. She could have been close to retirement and by firing her they won’t have to pay any retirement Bennies.

Also I have seen in myself and others that ‘habit patterns’ in speech do occur. ‘Have a blessed day’ might be one of her’s that she says unthinkingly to end a conversation.

If I had an account with any US Bank in America, I would change banks and inform the branch manager in person of my reason for doing so.

I think her bigger mistake was reprimanding someone for aledgedly taking the Lords name in vain because they used profanity. A teller should not be making the customer feel shamed in the normal business days transaction.Like it or not, society has coarsened quite a bit.

US Bank sucks anyway.

Ugh! Take it from someone in the industry.

Only Bank of America has a worse reputation.
