Cops take heartbreaking action 'every 98 minutes'
A rash of animal shootings by police officers nationwide has law-enforcement agencies running for cover amid growing public outrage that could force state legislatures to require greater accountability from men and women in uniform.

So because there are a few bad apples, all cops are evil?
Nobody where I live is screaming about bad cops. Don’t you think that if there was a problem with cops being some sort of evil occupying force (like what I heard from leftists during the sixties and seventies), many people, including many leading conservative pundits and spokesmen, would have noticed? Some of these anti-police screeds on this forum are bizarre. Which makes me believe there’s a hidden motive. And no, I’m not nor never have been a policeman.
They're already shooting children, seniors, etc.
Now how is he/she/it supposed to “report” you (see something, say something) if you don’t cooperate with his/her/its questions?
“Nobody where I live is screaming about bad cops.”
Demonstrably false.

How unfortunate that Wisconsin is so statist, in your view, Sir/Madam, that incidents such as these do not faze the locals.
But then, statists always justify criminal and tyrannical behavior, so your stance is woefully predictable.
May your chains rest lightly upon you.
OOooh...now you’ve done it.
How dare you display a “less than helpful” attitude to government employees!
I am shocked.
Shocked.
Shocked.
< /Do I really need a sarc tag? >
Yeah, I’m sure am having problems with all these chains. My neighbors too. It’s really hard trying to drive my car shackled by the weight.
Oh, and it’s interesting you’re using a publication called “police state usa” as a source. Don’t have an ulterior motive do you?
I suspect you belong to some group that has an interest in chaos and eventual power for your own sake.
When a State Trooper has to file a lawsuit to get other state troopers to stop harassing her and threatening her with violence, then I'd say there's more then a “few bad apples”.
Florida State Trooper Who Pulled Over Speeding Cop Sues 88 Officers in 25 Jurisdictions

From the Sun Sentinel:
Trooper Donna “Jane” Watts’ 69-page lawsuit, filed in federal court Friday, seeks more than $1 million in damages. She is suing more than 100 police officers and agencies, and the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. The suit alleges 88 law enforcement officers from 25 jurisdictions illegally accessed her personal information more than 200 times, violating her privacy
Other agencies have already settled with her and so are not named in the lawsuit, according to Watts’ attorney Mirta Desir. Margate, for example, settled for $10,000 after two of its police officers accessed her private information, said Margate city attorney Gene Steinfeld. The two Margate officers each received a letter of reprimand as punishment.
More details on the kinds of retaliations alleged, ranging from sending pizza deliveries to her house to making threatening phone calls, in the Sun Sentinel article.Video clips of the incident:
What kind of COWARD hits a mentally handicapped paraplegic in a wheelchair?
What kind of police officers ( there were FOUR police officers watching) stand by while one of their cohorts knocks over a mentally handicapped person in a wheelchair?
What kind of police department accepts this as reasonable force?
If you don't understand that these abusive actions against helpless people and animals is Sociopathic behavior, then it's possible that you're also a Sociopath, and completely lacking in human empathy...
In which case, my efforts at trying to get you to understand brutality under the Color of Authority is pointless, because you're *one of them*.
Don't you think if thuggish behavior by the police were widespread, we would be hearing about from many other conservative sources? Do you actually believe conservative talk radio and the internet would not report all this cases of thuggish behavior?
You tell me. You’re trying to convince people on this forum that ALL! police are jackbooted thugs. Posting isolated cases of what might be legitimate bad behavior by some cops does not make your case. There are over 300 million people in the country and around 800,000 law enforcement people. How many of those do you think are jackbooted thugs?
"Less than helpful attitude?"
WTF does that mean?
How is a dog owner responsible for the actions of a police officer? If the dog is rampaging and is the cause of the disturbance, then perhaps you may be right. But the majority - VAST majority - of these stories involves a dog who is in their own territory. That territory is invaded by the officer. The dog reacts in the way they are supposed to - by trying to protect their territory.
The officers should be subject to any and all available criminal charges whenever they shoot a pet that is not directly involved in the situation. If the officer crosses into the pet's territory, the officer should be liable unless the owner is given opportunity to handle the animal into a safer situation.
It matters not what the breed is - unless you are willing to condemn all for the actions of some. By that reasoning, there are certain ethnic groups that would be fair game amongst humans - and that is a decidedly unconservative stance that I am not willing to embrace. It is the same with canines.
I absolutely agree with you regarding property rights. However, if you choose to own a dog that will attack someone if they enter your property, you are potentially exposing yourself to a liability case. Whether you agree with the merits of that potential action is not in debate. It is a fact that if you have a dog that will bite someone, you better have a large Umbrella Insurance policy. This is why some insurance companies do not want to write a homeowners insurance policy if you own a American Staffordshire Terrier(pit bull), a Doberman Pinscher, A German Sheppard Dog, A Rottweiler, and a few others. I agree that it is not right to condemn an entire breed because of a few, but that is exactly what insurance companies are doing. In fact most a the pit bulls that have caused problems do not come from AKC registered breeders. They are taught to be mean from a young age. The fact remains that pit bulls were originally bred to fight bulls. They are a fighting dog. FYI, my daughter owns a Doberman Pinscher. It is one of the most intelligent dogs I have ever been around. It is not aggressive at all. It also comes from one of the best breeders of Dobermans in the northeastern US.
