Yeah. That’s my point. Hollywood CAN come up with great ideas, but their implementation could be either centuries off or totally impractical.

I read a science fiction book called Golden Globe where genetically engineered giant spiders spun the superstructure of space stations in place. That’s doable, I believe.
Given how they make nylon (I saw them pulling strands out of solutions at the '64 World's Fair), I figured they could chemically analyze spider silk and come up with some chemical means for making it without resorting to spider-goats, but apparently not.
