Nevada, buckle up. Over the next few months, youll learn how much your health insurance premiums will go up for next year. The early evidence isnt good the percentage increase could be in double digits.
But thats nothing compared with what youll face in 2017. In May, I released a comprehensive study showing how the Affordable Care Act will likely play out over the next few years. The diagnosis isnt good.
First, the short version. In two years, the ACAs structural problems will lead to substantial premium increases. Once that happens, Nevadans will likely leave the insurance market in droves. Theyll have little choice they wont be able to afford health insurance because federal subsidies wont keep up with the rapid price increases. Within a decade, this could swell the ranks of the uninsured by nearly 11 percent.
This isnt baseless speculation. I reached this conclusion by using a peer-reviewed economic model published in several health journals. It was funded by both private and government sources, including the Department of Health and Human Services, and has been cited by multiple Supreme Court justices in ACA-related rulings.
But why wont this happen until 2017? Because thats the year when the Affordable Care Act goes into full effect and certain temporary provisions begin to sunset. The changes will affect all plans sold for 2017 and beyond.

This gets to the kernel of why I have been saying since his re-election that we will not survive his presidency.
A huge (and expensive) federal bureaucracy will be required to implement the Affordable Care and Patient Privacy act.
Furthermore, the IRS will metastasize to enforce it.
Finally, a large portion of our population will be so heavily subsidized that before too very long the wagon will grind to a halt as healthcare providers go unpaid unless the working classes are further taxed to pay for it.
It will be neither affordable or protective of our privacy; to the contrary, the cost will be prohibitive, the care substandard by standards today and your medical history will be public property.
As Nanzi pointed out, now we’re finding out what’s in it. To the GOP’s credit, not a single Republican senator voted for it.
The gay military, this act—so many things await correction if the GOP doesn’t go stupid on us.
Some people seem to be bent on outdoing the others in the doom and gloom category.
Times of trial, grief, and misery are when the Lord can really shine. IF the people are willing to invite Him back into their lives.
Satan himself is but a runt in God’s sight. How much more so Barack Obama.
The Democrats were hoping that the GOP would “make Obamacare reasonable.”
The GOP didn’t. They let the Democrats have their own folly all to themselves.
Now, Barack Obama is busy blowing on the fuse trying to hold the spark back.
I see an excellent possibility for both the “idiots” and the law to be gone from the scene in a few years, if we do not give in to despair and if we call on the Lord with all our might, confessing that no we cannot fix our problem with worldly means but yes He can fix it by divine means.

The Republican Party has already gone stupid. In fact, the GOP is collaborating with the liberal socialist Democrats to bring about this nation's demise.
“As Nanzi pointed out, now were finding out whats in it. To the GOPs credit, not a single Republican senator voted for it.”
I found that utterly astonishing as we had the likes of Olympia Snow and a few others whose names now escape me. I’d have expected McCain to vote for it as well. I wish I knew the backstory of how they kept those RINOS in tow.
Cloward-Piven. No more. No less.
And this is why I tried hard to convince that we had to vote in 2012 for the lesser of the two evils. Romney does not and did not then believe that the Federal Government must run health care. He would have voted Obamacare out. Romney was a Constitutional conservative, believe it or not. So how is this King Obama working out now?
People of Las Vegas voted for it.
Now they can all kiss my ass.
So, now none of the original promises were ever kept.
The number of uninsured is now HIGHER than it was before the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010” scheme was instituted, the cost of insurance on a per-individual is now much higher (because of unneeded and unwanted “mandates” put in the regulations, not in the original law as written), AND DOCTORS AND OTHER MEDICAL SERVICE SUPPLIERS ARE NOW EFFECTIVELY EXCLUDED FROM PARTICIPATION. The last emphasis is intentional. Only the “approved” practitioners and the “approved” courses of treatment will be allowed, the other doctors and medical services professionals shall have long since departed from the scene, either through leaving the profession, or relocating to a more favorable climate.
Depend on it, the GOP-E will go stupid on this whole agenda.
“Cloward-Piven. No more. No less.”
When Clinton signed the reduction in welfare he invited Cloward and Piven and they stood behind him. It was a signal to the radicals that this was only temporary.
Obama Care is now DEMOCRAT CARE
Yes , but we have to have the idiots who voted for it to own it
but they will remain elusive, and lie like Cantor to the bitter end , until we pin their lies to them !!
When they lie ,.. we need to pin them to their legislation !
When they lie , show the vote and call them out !!
Book marked
My employer has me insured automatically. Then they send me a mail telling me I need my tetanus shots. I had them in the army... but go figure... the burden of proof is on me now?
Too late, the GOP went stupid the day Reagan left office.
What passes for the GOP nowadays is more liberal and far more wasteful of taxpayer's money than the Dim party was back in Truman's day. And yes I was there back then, not old enough to vote but fascinated with politics and gooberment just the same.
The data predict that the average 2017 premiums for a bronze family plan may jump from $8,810 to $12,861 an increase of 46 percent.
The increased premium renewal notices would hit before the 2016 election, not good for the Democrats.
It may be harder for Obama to delay this until after the 2016 election, since it involves appropriated money.
No that he won't try. Given the regime's record of getting away with lawlessness, he well could accomplish it.
