Perry Asks for 1,000 National Guard Troops Until 3,000 New Border Patrol Agents Are Trained; Texas Has Fewer Agents Than Any Other Border State.
Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry told members of the U.S. Homeland Security Committee Thursday afternoon that the illegal immigrants who've flooded the border since October must be sent back home.
Perry told committee members who toured a facility in McAllen and other centers in the state, where immigrants are being housed temporarily, that returning the children and adults who are entering the U.S. illegally will send a message to others to not embark on the dangerous and possibly deadly journey.
"Some may think that allowing them to stay here is the more humane option; I assure you it's not," Perry asserted. "Nobody is doing any of these children the slightest favor by delaying a rapid return to their countries of origin."
He continued: "Allowing them to remain here will only encourage the next group of individuals to undertake this very dangerous and life-threatening journey. And those who come must be sent back to demonstrate that risking your lives on the top of those trains is not worth it. Even those who've survived this treacherous journey are still at risk," said Perry, referring to one confirmed case of H1N1 and two other cases of Type A influenza that might also be H1N1.

How many of those we return home come back, and come back with another load of drugs on their backs? Does anyone believe these desperate people can get $5,000 in cash together to pay coyotes? Do we just improve the efficiency of drug smuggling operations by paying for the return trip? Can’t we prevent the initial trip into the US somehow? Shouldn’t that be the Federal Government’s primary role?
I thought Perry “had a heart”. Why is he not inviting them to stay in the Governor’s mansion?
But seriously, it is EXACTLY Perry’s policies that make the US (especially Texas) such a DESIRABLE PLACE for Illegals. He (and Bush before him) CODDLED them for 2 decades. Of course they’ll want to come here.
Maybe, after doing ALL THIS DAMAGE, Perry is WAKING UP to why people opposed giving freebies, even to children - since it only draws more and more of them here. Maybe he’s waking up...but a bit late, I’d say.
First, increase the Texas National Guard units involved in border security operations…That includes keeping the fleet of UH-72 Lakota aircraft in Texas to continue its vital missions.
Second, if the U.S. Border Patrol is going to release illegal immigrants into our communities to await a court date, every one should be medically screened to ensure their health and the health of our citizens.
Third, Texas should be reimbursed for the $500 million we’ve spent securing the border over the past decade. We’ve been fulfilling a federal responsibility, and the hardworking people of Texas shouldn’t have to shoulder that cost on their own.
And finally, secure this border once and for all. Invest sufficient resources to put an adequate number of Border Patrol agents on the ground permanently, and utilize existing technology, including drones, to help plug the gaps in security operations currently being filled by Texans.

1. First, they argue that we must give AMNESTY to 11-20 million illegals because most of them have been here so long and lived productive lives that it would be inhumane and un-American to send them back to a land that many of them have forgotten.
2. New pro-amnesty argument concerning the minors pouring across the southern border: Now they want to expand their AMNESTY argument to apply to illegals who crossed the border just a few days ago or just 5 minutes ago, calling them refugees.
The pro-amnesty people seem to want their cake and eat it too. Nothing seems to please those people. They are so arrogant that they believe they are the only people on the side of justice, while the rest of us are Satan re-born.
3. Question: How many children are left in El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala if they all seem to be coming here?
4. If we accept all who cross the border today and say no more, will the flow stop? I don't think so. Sarcasm.
5.Accompanied minors: not all the children are unaccompanied as the pro-amnesty people want us to believe. Just look at the news footage. You see many small children accompanied by adults, mostly women. i didn't see any young children holding the hands of men. What about the men?
What kind of fathers would send their children and wives on the long and dangerous trip across Mexico all alone? Those cowards. Or, maybe the fathers are already here, because they sneaked across the border long ago.
6. We should process those minors accompanied by adults first, and then send the adult and child immediately back to their home country.
7. So I say this: Let's not let the PRO-AMNESTY supporters BLACKMAIL us and pressure politicians into passing AMNESTY LAWS.

I think we should build whatever they’re coming here for, THERE. Central America? Build hospitals, schools, shopping malls, whatever, all along the Atlantic, staff them with American doctors and teachers who also enjoy surfing.
Take the hunger from the immigrants to come here and make it our own hunger to go THERE and build and create things, like economies.
