“There are white farmers who are still on the land and have the protection of some cabinet ministers and politicians as well as traditional leaders. That should never happen. They [whites] were living like kings and queens on our land and we chucked them out. Now we want all of it.”
At the turn of the century Mugabe, a former guerrilla leader, unleashed waves of violent land acquisition by war veterans aligned to his political party. Thousands of white commercial farmers were forced out under a so-called “indigenization” land reform policy.
Since then, Zimbabwe has been in an economic tailspin, with banks collapsing and with the government unable to pay the wages of many in the civil sector.
Much of the land previously taken by those in the Mugabe regime has benefited the security, police and military wings of the leader’s circle.

I watched several documentaries on out right tyranny of Mugabe. I’m surprised they haven’t taken him out. In a country hostile to you, you must have some sense of unity.

It is a little more complicated than that; many black workers stayed on those farms to work (wanting a better life than begging), and the Mugabe supporters literally beat them off the farms before chasing the whites off. There are black victims here, too; many are fleeing to South Africa as refugees.
We should just arm an opposition to the teeth. Not nation-building (we wouldn’t even follow up on it with a phone call); just arm them and let nature take its course.
Over there they say “you’re white!” and take away your livelihood by force.
Here they say you’re blowing a dog whistle and your “disparate impact” is a few percentage points off. Then they take away your livelihood by force.
They’re never gonna have it either.

Zimbabwe used to grow enough food to export all around Africa.
Now, with the blacks in control & the whites driven out, Zimbabwe IMPORTS about 90% of all it’s daily needs.
If any other nation had said the same, the liberals would be all over them with apartheid, marches, disinvestments, boycotts, Hollywood movies, etc.
