I recently had one of my customers want me to fix a problem in an application of theirs. The software is on 5 1/4 inch floppies. I have nothing to read it with. LOL!

When everyone goes to bed but me I'm gonna reboot the DSL. The IP address reset again about 50 minutes ago...

Our neighbors across the street still have no power. The pole in front of their house has a fuse on it and last I looked (before light failed), it was still dangling. Utility company says there are about 60 customers affected and service will be restored by 4 am...

It wasn't easy. I just told them that I would try to find some way to read it or the application would need to be rewritten. They felt a little embarrassed by the age of the application. I can't believe it worked all of this time.

Usually that just takes a guy with a long insulated stick to pop it back in, unless something was really pulling power that caused it to trip, maybe a branch.

I'm thinking that a tree took out some lines or maybe the lightning fried a transformer that they haven't completed replacing yet. More than likely when they are ready to pop it back in we'll see yellow blinkies out the window...

Not exactly sure how they have things routed here, but when lightning fried the transformer directly across from the 'west' end of our drive, we still had power also. We must be on a different phase leg.

Our "portable" reel to reel drives took two stout men to remove from our well logging trucks.
They were mounted high up on the rack, that was an adventure in itself when one failed :)
