Sorry grania, we’ll have to disagree.

Hosting the Special Olympics etc. is not like hosting a hotbedded political presidential convention...

Protestors, violence and all right in the very heart and stronghold of the democratic base in Ohio. If you think the Cleveland Police are ready to deal with such matters...I’ve got some land to sell you at Burke Lakefront.

This is a foolish choice.

On that note...we’ll have to just disagree.

Yes, and any missteps or controversies will be magnified by the massive coverage local media will give the thing.

It’s a high-risk/high-reward proposition. If it goes perfectly it’ll help in Ohio. If the Dems stir something up, and it’s undeniable that they did, it’ll help.

But if something goes wrong? Not good. The way things are going I’d expect the Dems to infiltrate to take advantage of that. All it takes is one or two Dems successfully pretending to be convention-going neo-Nazis or Klan members or something and doing a local interview or two that conforms to the slanderous right-wing stereotypes the Left has been and is peddling to completely screw things up.
