A Vietnam Veteran was attacked at a Columbia County convenience store Monday. He said he was in line to buy water after a run, but investigators say another customer was way out of line when he punched him.
After fighting for our county for 21 years, Jacob Cooter, 77, said he knows a thing or two about a fair fight.
"For the man to sucker punch me, he's kind of a coward," Cooter said. "The man was maybe a foot taller than me and a 100 pounds more," Cooter said. "He had no business hitting an old fella."

Welcome to Barack Hussein Obama’s “fundamentally transformed” Amerika.
The puncher need not be described. Everybody knows.
I honestly believe one of the reasons illegals with unchecked diseases are being planted around the heart of the country is to kill off good men like Mr. Cooter in the above story. Biological Warfare.
Gee, appears to be an AA, what a surprise. The scumbag did turn himself in and alleged racist comments, which the store witness deny they heard. Odumbo would be proud!
Turned himself in. As (not) described. http://www.wrdw.com/home/headlines/Man-accused-of-hitting-Vietnam-vet-turns-himself-in-265430931.html
Well, that was my first question.
“Way out of line”. That’s one way to describe it, I suppose.
What difference does it make that he’s a vet? Would it be less outrageous if a non vet got sucker punched?
He’s a good man. That’s why it’s worse. A man who should be honored.
Only veterans are good men in your world?
I’ve been having that same thought a lot lately.
they’re not good in yours? He sacrificed and this is how he is repaid. Just makes it more senseless.
No one deserves to be sucker punched. Veteran status has nothing to do with it.
This guy is named Cooter. Bet he’s had his share of ribbing....
happy 4th of July
Same back at ya.
Did they fill out a TPS report? If so, I hope they used the right cover letter.
Sorry...couldn't help myself.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
DmanA, it's VERY simple. You enlist, you have no idea what might happen. You might spend your term of service stateside in peacetime, but you also might be alerted in the dead of night that you're being shipped out to some dangerous locale. You have volunteered to, if need be, die for your country. But you have made that choice. It's a choice a lot of us never chose to make. Those that did, deserve our ultimate respect.
Well, if he had punched a politician, would that have been worse or better? There are differences in who it is.
