A US court has ordered a major dynamic DNS company, abused to distribute malware, to turn domain control over to Microsoft.

TERRORISM?.........
I have a feeling that Microsoft will not be around in 30 years. Granted that’s still a long time, but they just seem to be really off track.
Microsoft is no longer the innovators they once were back in 80s. They have been playing catch up since about 1994.
They were some what coming back from 2000 to 2010, but since about 2012 it’s been downhill again. Think about the Microsoft phone and tablet has been a disaster. Windows 8 launch a disaster.
The last good product from Microsoft is Windows 7, but that even took a long time to come
The current leaders are Apple, Google and Samsung. Perhaps Dell or Toshiba may save Microsoft? We will see...
Microsoft just got a new CEO, the stock is climbing, and the PE ratio is about 15. Bet against them if you want. I despised their inferior products over 30 years ago, but look at where they are now.
Tell me again how it was a good thing to take DNS registration away from ICANN and privatize it?
“Windows 8 launch a disaster”
I agree with you on that. To me (and I admit that sometimes I’m not the most intuitive guy at times), the Windows 8 doesn’t seem like the most user-friendly system.
Whenever I have had to use it, I found it to be a pain in the butt.
My laptop still uses Windows 7 and will for the foreseeable future.
Linux is about 3 breakthroughs away from becoming the big dog. I don’t have a clue how long that might take though, since there is no big company pushing it.
My new Dell came with 8 and it there isn’t much excitement in it for me.
I figure I am going to wind up supporting it, might as well learn. My laptop has 7 still and will stay.
Damn you Microsoft for stopping support of XP.
I hear ya.
Don’t give uSoft DOS Boot yet!
Long after Gates is gone, lowly networks will be chugging along on NT somewhere in our galaxy.
Win 8 was a disaster because it was marketed as a win7 desktop/laptop OS replacement. If they had marketed it as a Windows tablet OS, it would have gotten a positive response. This was a marketing failure.
No they MEANT it is a desktop replacement. That is a design concept failure, not a marketing failure.
Don’t forget that Xbox One has been an ongoing series of disasters as well. Also, Bing comes in second to google and one wonders if Cloud One or whatever they’re calling it these days is making money either. Metro UI/Windows RT have also been disasters of unmitigated proportions, because legions of Microsoft developers have permanently abandoned Microsoft in favor of iOS and Android.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Windows 9 is going to make Windows 8 look like a work of genius, because Microsoft’s end-game in the OS world is turn all MS OS devices into dumb terminals connected exclusively to online Microsoft products. Each iteration of Windows 8 has moved the needle further away from a Personal Computer to the dumb terminal which is exclusively integrated into one or more Microsoft server products.
