2016 poll: Hillary Clinton drops below 50% for first time; 'lackluster' book rollout blamed

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's fumbles and bumbles in the rollout of her latest memoir, Hard Choices, has knocked the wind out if her easy sail to the White House and put her support in key 2016 presidential election matchups below 50 percent for the first time.

At a time when she should be padding her lead over the top Republican contenders, her underwhelming effort has cut her numbers, said pollster John Zogby.

Given the amount of money she has to play with she should have used a few front organizations and bankrolled their purchase of 200k copies at cover price. That would have made it appear to be a smashing success and created hype instead of sneers.

Of course, she may have actually believed she had a best seller on her hands. That would have been delusional.

Looks like her tour may be over. Looks like the last date is today in Aspen. Is 20 days allot for a book tour?

“lackluster’ book rollout blamed”
Blaming her book tour for her poll numbers is stupid. Both reflect the fact that the public doesn’t care much for her.

Who would want to vote for an aging bitter America-hating opportunist redistributionist?

The mother of Chelsea Hubbell is not getting traction anymore from the battered wife image, and she can’t seem to sell her penniless pauper image to anybody, including penniless paupers. What is an aspiring victim president to do????

It is if you’re not selling books...

True but don’t necessarily equate a Hillary failure in the primaries with a Republican win in November.

If Hillary is healthy she will run, if still healthy by Nov 2016 she will be elected, if still healthy by Jan 20, 2017 she will be president, be very afraid.

Hillary’s campaign, self-destructing right on schedule.

Didn’t we see this in 2007?

A lot of folks said that in 2008.
But if an unknown guy named Hussein from Kenya could derail her, think what an All-American gal from Oklahoma named Lizzie could do....

I think the Kennedy machine did some things to build up JFK (not that JFK was a slouch).

Joe Senior knew how to press buttons to get this son John into the White House.

I do admire John for bucking his father and Neville Chamberlain about Peace through Appeasement with that diabolical man from Germany...

I was in BJ’s (big box store like Costco’s) and her books were literally piled to the ceiling. At least one hundred. The two folks who even bothered stopping by the “literature section” were looking at the cookbooks - as usual. Not one person picked up that damn book.

I think Hilly is failing early and fast.
In 2008 she kept the charade going well into the primary cycle.

Now she’s older, with more baggage, and looking very vulnerable. The only positive I see on the horizon is the “mediagasm” over the birth of William Jefferson Webster “lil bubba” Clinton-Mezvinsky. And frankly I don’t think Hillary will get much of a boost out of her fake grandma act.

Is the allot related to the alot?

The lack of enthusiasm for Hillary isn't very surprising. She just isn't very likable beyond a core constituency of feministas and hardcore Dem Leftists. Once someone outside of those groups gets beyond the media mask, up go the "dislike" numbers.

I agree. Unfortunately, for you and me, my prognostications are invariably wrong. But I do sense a strong smell of "loser" off her.
