Don’t think it will do any good but I fired off a message letting them know how despicable the actions in MS were.
I don’t think the national GOP believe they can do much as they need Cochran’s seat if he prevails in court or as opponent to a possible McDaniel’s write-in campaign.
Even if there are those in the national GOP that deplore the tactics used in MS, they can’t risk losing the game by chastising the beanball throwers.
But some beanballs have infuriated people so much that fans come out of the stands and onto the field. Then that brings some real problems.
If the Tea Party movement keeps this alive, and ‘comes down out of the stands and onto the field’ to chase and nab the beanballers, meaning that they protest and make progress in court or the Mississippi protest goes national then I expect the national GOP to pay some lip service and act like they care.
All in all, those who are influential and near the top of the national GOP are going to pay for MS one way or the other. Just how much they pay remains to be seen but I believe it won’t be a small amount.
> I dont think the national GOP believe they can do much as
> they need Cochrans seat
They have lost this seat. Even if McDaniels prevails, the slime left behind by cockroach Cochran and McDaniels has probably already forfeited the seat.
What the gop is not reckoning is the extreme dislike these tactics have generated for their pet candidate. The only way to hold this seat is for McDaniel to be the candidate. Cochran will lose the seat after these shenanigans.
Nice analogy.
“I dont think the national GOP believe they can do much as they need Cochrans seat if he prevails in court or as opponent to a possible McDaniels write-in campaign.”
The National Republican Senatorial Committee gave the $175 thousand that was spent on the “rascist, KKK” robo calls against McDaniel directed at the black community and paid for the “Flyers” with the same message and I understand at least part of the “walking around money”. Details of spending this money was apparently carried out by austin barbour and a gentleman Mr. Perry who was also chairman of Cochran’s Hinds County campaign and CHAIRMAN of Hinds County Republican party. I was told by senator’s roger wicker’s office that he was for thad and was pleased with the outcome and was proud and aware of the RNSC involvement. Mississippi does not allow a “write In” but it would show in the count as a “NO VOTE”
