A Salem City woman is being sought by police for her alleged role in a brutal attack on a 27-year-old woman Tuesday. Latia Harris, 25, is accused of assaulting Catherine Ferreira and threatening to kick the woman's 2-year-old son while a crowd of onlookers stood and watched, some of them recording the beating with their cell phones rather than intervening.

Most of us when faced with real violence freeze. In training for combat that freeze response has to be overcome for a soldier to be of any use.

Maybe not. But there is a reason people might need more rounds available and it has nothing to do with killing dee-ah!
With all the ferals in that scene standing around egging it on, it may have taken more than the seven rounds now allowed in NY to stop the attempted murder and especially if others decided to pile on you if you were attempting to stop it.
Of course, this was in New Joisey, so the chance of having any firearm around to defend oneself against these murderous ferals is slim and none and slim left town long ago.
This is one reason I try and stay out of these hell hole places that don't allow personal carry where the ferals have all the cards stacked in their favor.
Calling 911 may eventually result in incarceration and conviction (pretty unlikely, though) but what good is it going to do you if you are lying in a coma or dead?
Not a slam on you, but why is it that so many assume everyone has one of these?

I pity anyone who has to be anywhere near a pack of unassimilated gibsmedats like that; every day you take your life in your hands. I wouldn’t have gone anywhere near it (and I’ve done so in the past, when I was naive and idealistic). My family would be told I was trying to lynch a poor defenseless minority fast-food worker...
Technology is great; this story would have gone nowhere if it hadn’t been recorded.

This might make you laugh.... For 30 long years I was paid to jump in the middle of that garbage and stop the assault. I retired about 12 years ago. I am the same guy, with the same principals and integrity, but this country and it’s people have changed.
While I am proud of what I accomplished as a very tenacious crime fighting LEO, if I had life to do over again, I think I would have rather been a professional photographer or perhaps a commercial pilot.
You have your mind right, much more than many folks.

I guess the “Ivy” education didn’t “take” with you if you cannot reflexively spell common nouns, now did it?
It’s my understanding that a large percentage of people who have these degrees got them courtesy of the largess of mommy and daddy. I got my degrees by working hard at part-time jobs. They served me well.
Though I don’t have a couple mil in the bank, I do have a substantial net worth, which includes two homes. So, I get by.
