Rick Santorum announced his endorsement of state Sen. Glenn Grothman for U.S. Congress Thursday afternoon in a short statement.
“Glenn Grothman’s bold leadership in Wisconsin is exactly what we need in Congress,” said former U.S. Senator and 2012 Republican presidential candidate Santorum. “Our country is at a turning point, and we need a principled conservative like Glenn Grothman to return our country back on the path to prosperity. Glenn has the courage and the conviction to stand up for conservative values.”
Grothman announced his campaign in April. He currently represents the 20th Senate District in the Wisconsin State Senate.

I supported Santorum in 2012 as the best candidate in a lack luster field so this doesn’t carry more than a modicum of weight with me. (Especially after the field boiled down to just him and Romney)
Do you have a personal opinion or knowledge of Grothman?
When I googled Paul Ryan’s immigration views pre-2008(I was curious because I think he has always been open borders) I found an article that said Grothman and another state senator wanted to stop sanctuary cities.
Even back then, Paul Ryan’s plan was for border patrol to hand out visas.

State Sen. Glenn Grothman (R-West Bend) and Rep. Roger Roth (R-Appleton) introduced legislation Tuesday to prevent local governments from declaring themselves sanctuary cities for illegal aliens.
He is socially conservative as well.
You may remember a state senator on national news shown trying to enter the Madison capital building, having to go to several different doors while thousands were outside protesting, blocking his path, beating drums, etc. and the mob began surrounding him, it was Glenn.
I encourage support of Glenn Grothman and would say that his record on everything from content of school textbooks to his support for Scott Walker during the recall and everything in between is superb. Anyone who knows Glenn and his legislative efforts over the years is confident he will represent true conservatives as a congressman.

I would heartily agree. Glenn is one of the last remaining Good Guys.
