Student Leaders Ask Hillary To Return 'Outrageous' $225,000 School Speaking Fee
Business Insider ^ | 6/27/14 | COLIN CAMPBELL

Two top student government leaders at the University of Las Vegas are requesting Hillary Clinton return the "outrageous" $225,000 speaking fee she reportedly will receive for an upcoming speech at the school in October. In a video circulated by the national Republican Party Friday, Elias Benjelloun, the UNLV student body president, and Daniel Waqar, the student government's public relations director, slammed the university's foundation for paying Clinton so much for the event.

"We really appreciate anybody who would come to raise money for the university. But anybody who's being paid $225,000 to come speak, we think that's a little bit outrageous. And we'd like Secretary Clinton — respectfully — to gracefully return the money to the university or the foundation," Waqar said on the Nevada political program "Ralston Reports."

Benjelloun echoed Waqar's remarks.

"When we heard $225,000, we weren't so thrilled," he said. "We would hope that Hillary Clinton commits to higher education ... and returns part or whole of the amount she receives for speaking." snip

Update (1:37 p.m.): Updated story to note the speaking fee is reportedly going to Clinton's foundation.

this is a $225000 gift to imbecile Hillery from Nevada taxpayers. When does a Republican ever get even half this amount for a speaking fee.

Maybe she should chip in free books for the kiddies .... let them know what “Hard Choices” really are when your college costs are inflated by $225,000 to polish the silver spoon in Mrs. Slick Willy’s mouth.

It’s not the money - it’s the fact that these students want to listen to her at all.

“Updated story to note the speaking fee is reportedly going to Clinton’s foundation.”

The Mr. & Mrs. Slick Willy slush fund? The one with no expenditures except for their expenses? The one the whole family steals from?

It’s not The University of Las Vegas, it’s the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

I think this is outrageous. Absolutely outrageous. Who approved this? Usually schools have a budget for entertainment. This, as I understand, will be free. No tickets sold. Wouldn’t it be better to bring in a popular musical group and charge the students a nominal ticket fee.

IT goes to her Foundation? GIve me a break.

Isn’t it horrible that these students are going to force a dead broke senior citizen to return this money? Hillary will have to go back to eating cat food and sleeping without heat.

True. And, the people who made it happen will be remembered with gratitude by Hillary if she's in a position to dispense favors in the future. The most valuable part of a speaking engagement, or a political dinner, is the contributor list. It's certainly not the speech or the food.

It's all about peddling influence (as I've said on a number of threads). With Hil, that influence is a tad speculative, because maybe she won't become President. But, her odds are good enough that it's worth hedging your corruption bets.

Especially when you're going to hear 100% unadulterated bullsh*t.

LOL! You know I was thinking of starting a website to raise money for her so she doesn’t starve, just to see how many gullible fools are out there.
