Freepers Openly Supporting Liberal Democrats - Alison Lundergan Grimes
Free Republic ^ | June 26, 2014 | Salf/Vanity

Posted on 06/26/2014 10:01:59 AM PDT by ifinnegan

I never thought I would see the day when there were participants in this forum openly advocating voting for a liberal Democrat.

Yet that is what many are doing in advocating Kentuckians vote for Alison Lundergan Grimes.

This makes no sense unless one is a liberal or leftist anti-American or are unable to move beyond emotion and irrationality or a nihilist mind set that lets anger, fear, lack of faith and hatred dominate one's logical faculties.

Alison Lundergan Grimes was born in 1978. That's the year I graduated High school. Many here are older than I, and in politics, at 53 I am not all that old.

This liberal Democrat leftist, Alison Lundergan Grimes, is 36 years old. She is a baby in politics.

If she wins this seat now she will be in the Senate for 40 years.

By contrast, McConnell is an old man who will be gone after this term.

Those supporting the liberal Democrat leftist, Alison Lundergan Grimes, for Senate are going to simply make possible another Feinstein, or Boxer or any such left wing corrupt Marxist-thinking Senator with a Seat-For-Life.

Setting up a permanent seat in the Senate for a liberal leftist Democrat in a state where it is possible to avoid this plague, is not a good idea.

It may feel good emotionally to see the reprehensible, Mitch-I-want-to-punch-the-Tea-Party-in-the-nose McConnell lose, but the negative consequences are greater than the fleeting enjoyment of seeing McConnell lose.

Write-ins are illegal in MS. They won’t be counted unless Cochran kicks the bucket before the election.

t's time to get rid of the problem which, in this case, IS our side.

I will never try to kill off Republicans and leave us in the hands of Democrats, never. I can't believe any freedom-loving American would make that there goal.

This post is by a McConnell campaign staffer.

All parties do this.

It is a minefield, and the easily swayed will, well, sway easily.

Mitch and his GOP-e need to suffer the consequences of their actions, but giving up the Senate is not the way to go IMHO.

If we stay home and fail to take the Senate in 2014, the SCOTUS could be in jeopardy. If Ginsburg retires or if Scalia or Thomas passes away, we can forget taking back the country (politically) in my lifetime.

The libtards use the judiciary as a weapon. They will continue to push gay marriage (and other agendas) through the courts. With a liberal POTUS & Senate, we have still managed to score some wins at SCOTUS.

With a liberal SCOTUS, we have no hope.

Since you post this vanity, which by the way was not very well written, tell us what McConnell has done to fight the democrats and Obama?

I believe it was McConnell who led the way to bring the lawsuit which the SC ruled on today...the SC ruled against Obama.

We conservatives are awake. It is those who think like you who cannot
look at the reality and past history to understand that as soon as
the GOP takes the senate, the Gang of 14 will rear it’s ugly head again
and stop any issues we conservatives hold dear.

That will be the GOPe’s way out. The 14 Gangsters will rear their
clog the senate head.

We can do without McConnell and Cochran and be just fine.

I believe that Mitch McConnell will still let Reid run the show using minority powers.

Regarding judicial nominations, Reid used the nuclear option that Republicans were cowered by Democrats to not do, in order to eliminate the confirmation filibuster. McConnell has vowed to restore the filibuster, just in time for Reid to use it in the minority. How does that help Republicans?

McConnell has been reported to believe that it is better for the GOPe to let a Democrat in a red state have a seat that can be retaken next time, instead of letting a Tea Party conservative who can't be controlled by McConnell to have it.

If McConnell thinks that it's better to let a Democrat have a seat that can be retaken, then maybe we should let the Democrat have McConnell's seat, since we can retake it safely in Kentucky next time? It's McConnell's own strategy, after all.

There will be no viable opposition party ever. If dems win big, it could be a very long time, maybe never, before our side could gain steam to win.

Please explain how Grimes is a worse candidate than McConnell.

We don't get to know her policy positions, other than she's pro-abortion down the line. With the exception of the politically expedient stance of "pro-coal" (which you and I both know she will toss aside exactly three seconds after she's elected), she's not tipping her hand. The fact she's tightly connected to the Clintons should give anyone pause. Bet on her toeing Hillary's line after 2016.

The democrats already have real power because the GOP refuses
to exercise the power they already have.

A lawsuit? McConnell has the power of Fillibuster and brings a lawsuit?
Thanks for the humor.

Obamacare passed without a single Republican vote. McConnell deserves a lot of credit for that, especially given the “moderate” Repub squishes in the Senate. I also appreciate not having to hold my breath over the years whenever McConnell appears on the Sunday shows, because I know he’ll represent conservative principles well and avoid the media traps other Repubs so easily fall prey to.

but this upcoming election was at one time a rare chance to kick Reid’s ass to the back bench.

The FR Barn Burner Caucus has determined that shall not happen. Harry got him a whole new set of BFF's.

You nicely forget the GOP overwhelming voted for cloture on Obamacare.
A vote for cloture was a vote for Obamacare.

What else ya got?

Childers claims to hold some pro-traditional marriage stances, but... once elected, will that hold?

Now.. of course, I'm in Virginia, home of the WarnerKaine Obama-worshipping Kneepad Twins.. so I would rather have Cochran as Senator than THAT pathetic pair.

The decision will support Boehner's move to sue Obama which could help in a possible impeachment trial.

Filibuster tactics would just have resulted in a charge of "partisan tactics". A 9 to 0 court decision packs a wallop.

McConnell did the right thing.
