DENVER Hours before the polls closed Tuesday and Bob Beauprez was quickly declared the winner of Colorados GOP gubernatorial primary, he speculated that the Democratic effort to tip the race to Tom Tancredo may have backfired.
A day later, its crystal clear that that is indeed the case

Bob Beauprez lost by 17 points in 2006. It looks like Hickenlooper won again.

More from the article: Beauprez held a press conference denouncing the ad from the group, a joint venture of the Democratic Governors Association and independent progressive donors from Colorado.

Bob Beauprez lost by 17 points in 2006Didn't he run with Janet Rowland in '06? That was a huge mistake. First time I ever voted Democrat, just because she was on the ticket. If you look up the phrase "worthless establishment hack", there's a pic of Rowland there.

“Democratic effort to tip the race to Tom Tancredo”
Democrats like Michelle Malkin, I guess.
Another BS establishment GOP robber baron.
Congratulations Mr. Hickenlooper. You get to trample the constitution for another term.

I heard that Dick Wadams was behind this move. Tancredo would have won, he came close in 2010 on a third party ticket. The GOPe is showing their true colors all over the country.
Democrats mucking up republican primaries has to stop.

An independent expenditure committee had been formed to support Beauprez just before the Democratic ads hit the airwaves. Its name, Republicans Who Wanted to Win, hinted at the candidates own chosen selling point: electability.
Beauprez is as electable as Romney was. He already lost once.

The people who are willing to be delegates and drive to Denver or Boulder or whatever liberal hellhole to vote in the assembly have demonstrated that they care about their country and their party. Colorado GOP should run who ever wins in the assembly instead letting the big money fat cats steal the primary.

Tancredo was anti amnesty. They could not let him win.

Beauprez is as electable as Romney was. He already lost once. You're discounting the fact that Hick's got a record now. That record includes seeing 2 legislators recalled and a 3rd resign, with all eyes on him in the general. Lots of pro-gun D's in Colorado. Here's to hoping it's enough.

Democratic effort to tip the race... I sense that this is becoming a new tactic.
Besides running spoiler "libertarian" candidates to split the Republican vote, this is a tactic that Claire McCaskill used to select Todd Akin as her opponent.
It's just another example of how Democrats think outside the box to win elections at any cost, while Republicans dither and fight amongst their own.
When Republicans do play dirty, it's never against the Democrat, for fear of being called mean, racist, or misogynist.

I sense that this is becoming a new tactic.I agree. A trend is developing. Republicans fight republican voters with more intensity than they use on democrats in the general election.

Obama had a record too. Romney still lost.
We could have had an all out wall to wall slug fest.
With Beauprez this will devolve into a polite debate over how the silverware in the governors mansion should be arranged.

No, no, it wasnt better, was it?It was, actually. (D) or (R), we're headed to the same destination. At least with the (D)'s, we get there quicker and with much less back stabbing. Bring it on, I say. Let's roll.
