I have neighbors who are retired public school teachers. They are teachers union members and self confessed hard core socialists. Obama could kill and eat a puppy on TV and they would praise him for it.
There are a lot of very elderly voters who still vote for the party of their parents. They live in a “yesteryear”, only watch 30 minutes of broadcast news at night, and no longer think very clearly.
The Entitlement Army encompasses a wide variety of voters and likely approaches 40% of the current electorate (growing every year).
Those folks will vote for Charles Manson if he’s the Democrat candidate. They could care less about Benghazi, IRS, or similar stuff. They vote their pocketbooks.

Don’t forget the union workers, plus the federal, state, and local bureaucrats. Trial lawyers. Secular Jews and Muslims. Academics, journalists, lobbyists, government contractors, and wealthy businessmen reliant on government (Warren Buffett, silicon valley, green energy companies), the Hollywood crowd, Ivy League grads, people on extended unemployment benefits. When you consider all of the parasites living off a $3 trillion dollar government, 29% seems low.
