As we pointed out last week, there were several potentially illegal political games afoot in Mississippi to motivate Democrat voters to "switch" over to the GOP for a day to help save a 42 year Republican member of Congress. On top of that, millions of dollars from out of state liberal billionaires like Mike Bloomberg poured in at the last minute on that same incumbents behalf. You have to ask yourself why? When a primary election is lost fairly, I am all for unifying behind the victor and joining forces to fight in November. When an election is questionable, with potential legal violations, politics MUST be put aside and the irregularities MUST be fully investigated. Regardless of party, we owe it to voters and to democracy within our Republic.
The integrity of the vote speaks directly to the integrity of those who serve and the trust we ask the American public to put in our institutions. I told Chris McDaniel last night that I stand with his effort to get to the bottom of this he needs to know average, but tremendously concerned, citizens want to make sure the integrity of last nights results in Mississippi are verified. Voting shenanigans never cease to amaze, but they had better cease altogether for the sake of ethical elections. And any GOP architect behind these abhorrent voting shenanigans should be ashamed of this Pyrrhic victory for the establishment. If we find out it's true that some of the characters alleged to have masterminded this Mississippi hijacking are the same ones who've tried to destroy other Republicans careers, they need to be taken to task and only be hired by unethical campaigns. Fool us once, shame on you; fool us twice, shame on us. And if any news organization ignores a free and fair elections issue like this, then whether left-leaning or center right, their silence will speak volumes.
What say we cross the line in November and vote out Cochran to deny the GOP-e any victory. We should see how close they are to taking the senate and not shoot ourselves in the foot though.
We need to focus even harder on state & local races and also on Republican leadership elections. These pukes don’t have enough money or manpower to stop change from the bottom up.
[ Its pretty obvious. Dont let the hate turn into suffering. ]
I am all for sufferuing as long as it is the RINOS who funded this dishonest campaign against McDaniel are suffering and suffer deaqrly for this betrayal...
When politicians can post pure crap like this, and get the opposing party to swing an election in their favor, you get to see who the true enemy is. Both parties are two sides to the same coin. If you are a conservative, you have a choice of either getting kicked in the teeth by democrats, or stabbed in the back by republicans. And for all of the republican cheerleaders around here, telling conservatives to vote for the lesser evil: you are part of the problem, and are more than likely actively engaging in political sabotage.
[ rah, it is time. The pubsn fight as dirty as the dems. Trouble is, they fight us, not the other side of the aisle. Lots of smidgens on both sides of that aisle. No matter how you look, they they are no different. A new CONSERVATIVE party should be a top priority. New blood and faces. New ideas and strategies. Many of WTP will never trust or vote for an R again. We look to you, with a prayer of convection that a patriot will be found who loves this country as we do and able to make us whole and noble once again. Lord help us, Amen. ]
We need to establish some planks for a new party that are IMMUTABLE that will prevent the sort of corruption we see IN BOTH parties othwerwise we will eventually see this crap again.....
I say we have a plank that says: we will have closed primaries, and no incumbent in our party shall run un-opposed in ANY primary.
Maybe a few more anti-incumbent type Planks, maybe a sliding threshold an incumbent has to beat to win primary based on how long they have been in office.
- 1st term incumbent has to get 52%
- 2nd term incumbent has to get 54%
- 3rd term incumbent had to get 56% (and so on and so forth)
The primary process the MAIN way to parties have to “clean house” of the entrenched politician, and it is severly broken in BOTH parties...
That is not true at all. We let them do this because we thought "Open" primaries would be more "fair". This wasn't the case of being "boyscouts", after all the boy scout motto used to be "be prepared". (now I think it's "be fabulous" or something) Anyone that thought this through knew this was going to happen, we have seen it happen before. We need to take over the local party organization and make all party primaries be party only.
*Along with rules so changing party affiliation can't be done within a certain amount of time of an election or primary.
Maybe I shoudl have said a large group of Thugs will win against a solitary boy scout who is naive.
A big reason I like Palin, she's not afraid to take on the establishment RINO GOP.
The Republican party is MORIBUND, it's just still in denial, when it could be transfusing the lifeblood of conservativism to come back strong.
McDaniel should run this Nov. as an independent. Cochran isn’t going to get those same Dem voters next time.
Oh yeah, an object lesson in the perfidy of the National GOP and very specifically US Senate GOP leadership.
After conceding the GOP primary contest to Joe Miller, who was TEA party supported, the power crazed b**** set up her write in campaign as an independent.
I don't recall what or who changed her mind after pledging her support to Miller in her concession speech. After her announcement to run as a write-in independent the Alaska GOP declined to support her. But her US Senate crony buddies rolled up their sleeves for some serious behind the curtain maneuvers for the daughter of an old GOP corrupt old boy, Frank Murkowsky.
Bam! US Senate GOP leadership release PR statement that Murkowsky, now running as Indie, would be allowed to retain her senority position if she won. Mmmmmmm...shot across the bow of Joe Miller, a big FU to the potential GOP jr Senator. The message was clear, your office would be the third cubicle in the public men's room and committee assignments would be of the pencil counting type and Alaska would be kicked off the gravy train for their hubris in supporting a TEA favorite.
Not to be out done in the arm twisting department, the Alaska Court decided that illiteracy, stupidity, drunkenness, or crystal meth usage should be no barrier in the exercise of their enfranchisement. Any scrawl resembling the letter L, M, or an inkblot which in some way could be construed to resemble an udder would be deemed a valid vote for the Alaskan Princess.
And the little princess won.
...and proved that the third party write-in route could win.
If one lacked any scruples and had the backing of the Corrupt Bastards Club and GOP National leadership. Of course, pro-choice, pro-gay positions were just the icing.
The night Joe Miller won the primary, he was in a car wreck. Nor his fault, either.
Yep. Reset, I understand your aversion and fear of third-party dynamics, that they "never win." Personally, I don't care whether the new Second party so obviously being sought by Americans goes by the name Republican, Constitution, or Bob's Your Uncle. The only thing I care about when the 2016 presidential ticket comes around is voting FOR a limited government conservative.
Maybe the Republican party will start to turn right again if enough conservative "Independents" displace their liberal Republican representatives by following through on upsdriver's great suggestion. Maybe it won't and a new Second party will form when disillusioned Republican conservatives switch to the new party in order to leave the Romneys and Cochrans and McCains and Lindsey Grahams out of the loop.
This is like an approaching wave: coming whether we like it or not, so we'd better prepare instead of standing with our mouths gaping as if it's going to stop before it reaches us.
I am prepared to chuck conventional wisdom.
He’s not going to get McDaniel’s Conservative supporters either.
Rush just said exactly that, he is late to the party, I have called for it for a long time because there is no there way to remove these traitors, save one and I don't want to go there yet.
If anyone on this site still gets RNC fundraising mailers and phone calls, tell them to send their solicitations to all those new “Republican” voters in Mississippi.
Yeah and most all pubbies do not know this story..
Whether they CARE or NOT is open to question..
Conservatism and capitalism are atrophyed..
not counting the prevailing apathy...
blame generations of federal public schools..
you know........ that republicans allowed to happen..
proper civics and accurate history are no longer taught..
not to speak of american history.. especially not THAT...
We’ve educated a nation of cretins.. yeah your cretins..
“I am prepared to chuck conventional wisdom.”
Hmmm.
Something that has me thinking is the WHY here. Why did the gop wing of the uniparty go into MS and run a campaign to win against Chris McDaniel in a manner that would outrage conservatives and deliver a slap in the face. Yes, they’re looking to preserve their power at any cost. We already know that. It’s almost as if it was calculated to cause maximum fury.
I’ve been suspicious for some time that the stab conservatives in the back campaign is less hamfisted than it seems at first blush. Perhaps they’ve already run the numbers, done the calculus and decided that driving conservatives out of the gop wing of the uniparty is the best course of action to improve their long term prospects of expanding their power? Is it bait?
In any case, my story is that the ballot box for conservatives is generally a dead end. And I see no reason this week to step back from that point of view.
Posted this last night
They simply have calculated they can rid themselves of us bitter clingers, keep the moderates and make up the difference with Dems.
they also calculated that most clingers will continue deluding themselves that the GOP is/are trying to win.
the reality of course is they are fully Democrat and are playing their role as the incremental pressure relief valve for the political process. As long as the rat does not know it lives in a cage, it thinks its in the forest.
Whatever their intentions or long-term suicidal mission, one thing remains fixed: electing leftists is a mistake. I will vote accordingly.
