Chris McDaniel may have refused to concede the Mississippi Senate primary without a challenge, but Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) appears to be moving on after the Tea Party suffered primary defeats last night.
I certainly congratulate my colleague, Thad, Cruz said on Fox and Friends Wednesday morning, pointing out that the Republican establishment poured millions into the Mississippi race and only won by a thin margin. Cruz reminded the hosts that he did not endorse a candidate in the Mississippi primary, as he promised to stay out of incumbent Senate races.
But Cruz insisted that Cochrans narrow victory should be a warning for Republicans in Washington, D.C. I think that demonstrates that there is a lot of hunger for change. People are frustrated with Washington, and they're hungry for leaders who will stand up and make the case we need to go a different path, Cruz said.

See you, Ted.

Yeah, sure. Kick Ted to the curb. Write him off as a RINO loving poser. You knew it all along anyway, right?
My God, Ronald Reagan could come back to life and some here would sneer. After all, Reagan was a democrat. Once.
“Unbelievable... the man bangs farm animals... and southerns STILL vote for him???”
Try to get over this way of thinking. “Takers” don’t give a rip about this country as long as they get free stuff and can stop the tea party.
The GOP is ten steps ahead of this type of thinking. Haley Barbour can now hand select the next GOP senator in Miss when the GOP insists Cocheran retire early b/c of health and old age. That way the GOP can avoid McDaniel again or any other conservative politician who isn’t after power but cares for the nation as a whole.
What makes you think Cochran would be liable to do anything ‘conservative’ if the GOP had a senate majority?

“Senator Thad Cochran Praises Obama”
Cruz is not interested in doing anything against the rules.
It is up to the voters to help out in getting good people elected.
Do people watch too many movies that they think it’s going to be one guy to bring us out of this?
It is a government by the people, not a government by Ted Cruz, any more than it’s a government by Eric Holder and BO.
Cruz is supposed to be like them and fix everything according to what he thinks his base wants?
No better than BO? lawlessness?
Do we want a good government? or a bad government, just on our terms?
People need to get busy.
Farm animal comment
Yeppers, I was so ready for Ted to make a mistake and decend from perfection myself - which he did with flying colors in congradulating Cochran! He is part of the establishment - NEVER MIND WHAT HE HAS DONE BEFORE!!!
I HATE TED !!! I HATE TED !!! I HATE TED !!!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!! BOOHOO !!! BOOHOO !!!

Cochran (MS) - - 54% (Average) - 57% (Heritage) - 56% (CFG) - 60% (ACU) - 41% (FreedomWorks)
That’s for a pol from a deep red state. Pitiful. Cochran winning in November would all but eliminate the conservative base of the GOP. It would make no difference which party had the senate. What the Cochran people did was despicable and the Establishment, the Chamber of Cronies, and all the other Ol’ boys saw how well it worked.
Enough to win, probably very easily - and that's all he cares about.
Reagan painted Ford for exactly what he was. An out of touch, unelectable, North Eastern Beltway Rockefeller Republican.
He was right.
Ford should never have run for election. After his pardon of Nixon, there was no way he was going to get elected. It looked like a prid-quo pro after Agnew resigned in disgrace. And to top it off, Ford was an incompetent boob.

“Ted Cruz Is Calling Time-Out on His Role at NRSCFor Now
The way Cruz sees it, theres just no way he can, in good conscience, get involved in Senate Republican primaries. To get involved is to side with incumbents, and to side with incumbents is to back Washingtons elite. It could anoint electable candidates, but not always the most conservative ones.”
I’d bet the farm that a huge segment of those voters did not even know about the rule that they couldn’t vote in runoff if they voted Dem in primary or that they had to be registered June 4th to vote at all.
All the poll workers had to do in Hinds is sit quietly by.
I get really tired of the less than perfect people here who constantly criticize others who don't agree with them 100% of the time...
...most of whom think they are influencing what happens in the world because they emote on the internet!
I would argue that it might not be time for that. Cruz should be spitting mad about what Cochran did, but he lives in a cesspool and has stayed pretty clean.
Amen! I agree with you on that!
True. Cruz has not fallen into the pitfalls of Rubio and increasingly Rand Paul. Mike Lee is good too
You may have a point. Disappointed in Cruz, definitely.
Ohh Good grief! It probably meant that he kicked or shot at dogs/cats, castrated hogs or things along those lines. THAT was the culture he grew up in. To equate that remark with bestiality is ignorant...to say the least.
And trust me... I did NOT want Cochran to win....for several solid reasons.
I was under the impression that Ms was a southern state...
