“In your face”, as a strategy, seems to work, if pursued long enough and with enough enthusiasm. I could give a flying - whatever - what somebody believes or does, PRIVATELY. But when it reaches out and touches persons otherwise not of that persuasion, or not of sound and reasoned adult perspective, then it becomes a form of aggressive behavior, not to be countenanced or permitted. Just another form of bullying, and isn’t that something that the “pious pornographers” have called upon the rest of us to stop doing?
The social contract has been largely unstated up to now, but there comes a time when “enough is enough”. Behave in a civilized manner, and shut up about it. Behave in a distinctly uncivilized manner, behind closed doors, and shut up about it.

The courts have been capable of redefining marriage, it's just a matter of when they get around to defining a contractual 10 minute relationship as marriage.
