Battling for his political survival, six-term Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran narrowly edged out challenger state Sen. Chris McDaniel for the win in a tight Republican runoff race that was too close to call for much of the night.

The tactics used by an establishment republican in this race are worse than those used by the sleaziest democrats. I would never vote for this sleazebag.
If this is the Republican Party, I want no part of it.
I understand, but every day the debt gets bigger. Every day, this country is on more borrowed time. It won't be fun, but this country will have to hit the reset button, but probably when no other options are left. Your 401k will be stolen, taxes will go up to 80%, everything will be taken from you that you haven't hidden. It will be Venezuela here. But after they have stolen everything and it still isn't enough, it will collapse. At that point, there will be no takers, and we will all learn to be makers again. In the meantime, we fight on, and hopefully we can make some progress. (and you consider me optimistic)
I have known a couple of whores that I was rather fond of, though I did not purchase their merchandise, and I am being quite serious. They knew what they were selling and made no apologies for their profession. I find their honesty and profession far superior to that of Thad Cochran.
There was a recent story that “60 trillion in wealth will be handed down from one generation to the next” as if... people who bust their a** and pay taxes for decades should be ashamed to leave anything behind to THEIR children.
It’s going to be open season on ANY wealth found anywhere. “Spread it around” means take it from the producers and give it to the voting base.
Until there is nothing left. Then how will they stay in power?
By disarming the people and throwing out the Constitution.
It’s not like this movie has never been played before.
[ THIRD
PARTY
NOW ]
Was it like this in the last days of the Whig party?
Probably not as bad. I don’t think the Whigs had Democrats choose their candidates
Hollow or not it doesn’t matter. He won. And that is the horror of it.
And THAT is why the GOPe is still in power. They know that we will vote for them regardless. I’d vote for the Dim in MS in a heartbeat in Nov.
I agree with you. Time is NOT on our side. let’s be honest here. We are an old and aging demographic and the ONLY one the GOP has. America is turning more and more blue by the day. Whites are going to be a minority and in the not too distant future. There is NOTHING about the future that is on our side. Not a d**n thing.
Surprised Cochran’s open courting of black Democrats didn’t drive a backlash against him that outweighed the benefit he reaped therefrom. Lindsey Graham’s operation has shown more subtlety here in South Carolina, quietly leafleting black neighborhoods, for instance, and not getting it into the MSM.
A write in campaign CAN win.
Look at the June 3 results here:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-tran/elections/2014-primaries-june3
(Mississippi results are down the page)
Notice the top vote getter that night was McDaniel. The ENTIRE Democrat slate didnt get HALF the votes of EITHER Republican.
I dont think Cochran will get DEMOCRAT votes in the general election, do you?
McDaniel could repeat what he did on June 3 and be the next Senator from Mississippi.
Revolt is coming.
If I lived in MS - I’D vote for the Democrap in November!!!
THIRD
PARTY
NOW
I'd settle for a SECOND party.
But they organized and planned for the democrats to vote for them, screwing over the conservative.
There should be a cost to them for that move!
|Gloria Borger| <=> |sheer stupidity|
Nice bracketing. Works for me.
They elected Lincoln -- and Lincoln's War. Talk about a disaster, it was an apocalypse. The surviving Democrats (those whom Lincoln didn't manage to kill on the battlefield) succeeded in electing just one Democrat to two (divided) terms in the next 50 years.
