UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Sunday expressed solidarity with the families of the three kidnapped Israeli teenagers, but also hit out at Israel for arresting Hamas terrorists as part of its operation to locate the three teens.
In a statement outlining Bans conversation with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu the day before, the UN chief stressed the need to avoid an escalation of tensions in the wake of the recent abduction of three Israeli teenagers and the increased violence and mass arrests in the West Bank.
According to the statement, in Saturdays phone call with Netanyahu, Ban conveyed his sympathy for the abducted teenagers and deep solidarity with their families but also voiced concern over the increased violence, mass arrests, and restrictions on movement in the West Bank.
It was imperative, Ban reportedly told Netanyahu, not to give in to provocations in a way that seems likely to escalate tensions further.
Ban called both sides to show restraint and to observe human rights standards and international law.

For a better world the UN must be eliminated.
where on earth do you see UN vehicles?
the only thing Moslems understand is force
On a regular basis on Highway 60, South of Jerusalem, especially Gush Etzion area.
Israel is not bound by some mooselimb doctrine of fairness which equals muslims cut your heads off and the world says sorry for our oppression ..its time to start saying Islam is a fake religion based on the pervert pedophile>>put it every where and when the mosselimbs catch fire in anger, plant em for fertilizer.
The UN. Legitimizing tyranny, dictators, child rapists, genocide, anti-Semetism, anti-Americanism, and Islamofascism with your tax dollars since 1945
Whadya expect from an organization whose membership base is over 75% OIC?
Did you really expect more? Once upon a time UN meant something, not so anymore.
Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. The UN is a big improvement over the League of Natiions, which was merely powerless and ineffective against tyrants, dictators, child rapists, genocide, anti-Semitism, anti-Americanism, Communism and Islamofascism. Of course they have to outright collaborate with all of those nasty fellers. You aren’t expecting them to fight half their membership, are you?
Translation: Appeasement and acquiescence.
the IslamoNazi UN guy will be even more “concerned” when Israel finally .... FINALLY...loses patience and just starts shooting the terrorist basturds that have been blowing up her schools and pizza parlors.... there has to be a limit to all of this Patience and Forebearance and Kindliness and Kid Gloves when your people are being blown up and half your land continues to be occupied by Arab squatters (who bomb or throw rocks at your children’s school buses)
in other words, UN guy, “Go stick your head in a toilet!”
OK, then. Don’t “arrest” them, summarily execute them. Terrorists after all...
exactly right.
any violent terrorist should be shot.
this krap has been tolerated, the perpetrators dealt with baby gloves...for far, far too long
if there is to be any end to the IslamoNazi violence, it will begin when they realize that they really will be dispatched to their false god
treating terrorist bombers, murderers like they were jaywalkers or like they stole sticks of gum from the mini-Mart....is no way to protect your citizens...no way at all. it is grossly unjust...
only when Israel finally stands up for herself will peace (eventually, anyway) have a chance
Can’t you show proper respect for the UN Secretary General? His name is Bonkey Moon, dammit!
And when the bearded savages blow up Israeli school buses, are they outraged?
Of course not. They just caution both sides to exericize restraint.
You know, if the U.N. is so concerned about arrests, then you wonder if they’d be concerned, if they just shot them instead, on the spot???
Monkey what?
When are we going to stop wasting U.S. taxpayer dollars on this old cold war dinosaur? Get the UN out of my country.
