If the Convention of States ever gets off the ground, they need to reverse Senators being popularly elected & go back to states appointing someone to represent the State. That would take care of one issue.

And I would limit congressional reps to one term in, & they can only serve again after one term out. And end ALL retirement benefits for both Senators & Representatives. They need to be incentivized to make it in the real world & gov’t service should be SERVICE - not the road to wealth.

We are in agreement. I advocate for as short a time period as possible. 12 years max provides plenty of variations between House and Senate service. Any years left over would be forfeited.

I would add another provision in addition to term limits:

That a person holding an elective or appointive national position must resign that position before seeking another elective position.

That would stop especially senators who have recently run for the presidency. They take up to 2 years off — with full pay and benefits.
