Still basking in the reflection of that magnificent event! The Commandant's Own, the Marine Corps Drum & Bugle Corps, gave a concert ending with a rendition of Beethoven's 9th - Ode To Joy - with cannon fire at the conclusion. We were seated in close proximity to the battery of three cannon - it was outstanding.
At the conclusion "Evening Colors" sounded forth from the President's Own, The Marine Corps Band. The Fort McHenry Flag was reverently lowered as all stood. Then a bugler on the parapet sounded "Taps." A fitting end to the evening.
No dirt time today - I hope to get a little dirt time in tomorrow.

I can only imagine the cannon fire...what a fantastic experience, the whole Evening Parade. I think I’m jealous.
