The Kurdish fighters have had enough of ISIS on their land and are determined to drive them out. From the cover of mud trenches the peshmerga fire at ISIS positions 100 metres or so away. This is the ISIS perimeter defence of Jalula town.
It is old-style fighting. Man replacing man on the barricade as they run out of ammunition. There is a constant barrage from both sides. Sky's Stuart Ramsay reports.

I’m not a fan of Muslims. Kurds are Muslims and they adhere to Muslim beliefs. You give them far too much credit.

Just want to clarify, the article says Yezidis (also spelled as Yazidis). They are a kurdish speaking people (there are also several different Kurdish dialects, tribes & political groups). But Yezidis aren’t muslims. Their reliogion has an Islamic influence but essentially is a mixture of other religions too including pagan influences.
Also, although we do find more than a few cases of female genital mutilation among Kurds, as a rule Kurds have a much stronger sense of nationalism & national identity than religious one compared to most other muslims. That’s definitely a plus. Islamic practices are more family or tribe-specific than universal among the Kurds. Worthwhile to note that Peshmerga have many women fighters in their ranks.
