Russia puts forces in central part of the country on combat alert

MOSCOW – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday ordered military forces in central Russia on combat alert as well as a drill of airborne troops, a day after Ukraine ordered a cease-fire with pro-Russian rebels.

[....]

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko ordered his forces to cease fire Friday and halt military operations for a week, the first step in a peace plan he hopes will end the fighting that has killed hundreds. The Kremlin dismissed the plan, saying it sounded like an ultimatum and lacked any firm offer to open talks with insurgents.

There was some news I neglected to post, and news I was surprised was never reported on Fox News or anywhere else. Russia started its invasion yesterday using unmarked tanks and other weaponry used by the Ukrainian military, probably to claim that the Separatists captured them. There are also Russian soldiers, apparently on the border, dressed up in Ukrainian uniforms now.

Well, I say “invasion.” It was maybe a show of force not really seen before.

“We have some more information on the tanks sighted in Alchevsk which we reported earlier, and for which @djp3tros has provided what we consider a convincing geolocation.

YouTube user Novo Ukraina has uploaded the same video today reporting a Russian military convoy in Alchevsk in Lugansk Region, Ukraine, heading toward Perevalsk and Slavyansk.

The convoy had numerous vehicles, and at least 20 tanks, 5 BTRs and 11 trucks. The viewer also spotted anti-aircraft weapons chained to one vehicle. On one of the BTRs, the insignia of the “Almighty Troops of the Don” were seen, a registered Cossack organization.”

From another post on the thread for that day:

“Russian Media Hint at ‘Humanitarian’ Pretext for Wider Invasion
15:12 (GMT)

The Russian, pro-Kremlin, news site Pravda.ru has published an article, citing a supposed “source in the Ministry of Defence”, that hints strongly at a possible Russian pretext for invading Ukraine. The source says that not only have forces returned (as we have clearly seen) but that plans exist to cross the border and establish a “humanitarian corridor” in the Donbass.

Russian tanks indeed appear to have already crossed the border, albeit unmarked. The article also describes a visit by Sergei Ivanov, the head of the Presidential Administration, to Rostov where he described the situation in Ukraine as “genocide”. While today’s deployment of unmarked forces may serve to provide some sort of provocation or advanced spearhead to establish control, there are clear signs that the Russian government is considering an open invasion under the guise of humanitarian intervention. Such apparent government leaks in the Russian media are often employed by the Kremlin to give heed to their plans.”

And another:

These developments are extremely worrying. We should note that we have never before seen such an enormous show of force from separatist fighters, and that these unmarked T-64s do not match the appearance of Ukrainian ones we have seen, such as one shown in a recent video.

Following the appearance of three similarly unmarked T-64BVs last week, NATO issued a report in which they said that the vehicles had most likely come out Russian reserve storage and crossed the border.

With video emerging that appears to show a large quantity of Russian heavy armour being ferried by rail close to the border at Millerovo (notably close to Lugansk) yesterday, it appears that an outright invasion by Russia may already be beginning.”

I was waiting all day for Fox or anyone to mention it, but was surprised at the silence.

“So why is it his forces in central Russia?”

Russia claims it is a drill. Such a drill may be used as cover for the mobilization and eventual redeployment of the airborne and other troops to the Western Military District and the Southern military District bordering the Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Georgia.

Yes, there have been scattered reports the past few days of Russian military forces donning Ukrainian uniforms and equipment to conduct false flag operations in the Ukraine and in Russia the way Hitler did at Gleiwitz with Poland.

UMCRevMom has one such report: Ukraine military infiltrated by Russian

Unfortunately, the MSM have not, as you noted, provided us with any reports we could quote.

Because that is where Ukraine is? It doesn’t always make sense. Our “Central Command” is in charge of Central Asia, but is in West a Florida on our East Coast.

It boggles the mind to make sense of this stuff.

I tend to believe your assertion. I really think Putin is trying rebuild the Soviet Union. Thank you Obambi and Hillary for their appeasement and childish "reset button".

Aside from Obambi being the first half-black president, his main legacy will be his weak foreign policy that encouraged Islamist war in the ME and Russia's new imperialism.

IMHO, if a Republican wants to win the Oval Office, he/she should make the point that the world has become a more dangerous place due to Obambi/Hillary policies. Even the LIV would listen up if the message was strong and made them worry about their own lives and/or how such coming conflicts/attacks would risk their EBT cards.

The western leftists & isolationists want to give Putin title to the former SU countries but Putin has no intention of stopping there. The Putinists have this nutty Eurasia thing going also:

The more one learns about Dugin, the more one gets freaked out. Apparently he even touted Aleister Crowley for a little while. From a larger article, all of it worth reading (so I'll provide a chunk of it, not all of it dealing with satanism):

"“Since 2000, Dugin has moved to the center of political power close to the Putin administration by a deliberate strategy of veiling his mystic-esoteric ideology…”

This is the same Dugin who was photographed meeting with former American Ku Klux Klan leader and neo-Nazi David Duke in Russia. Duke argues, like many Russian nationalists, that communism was imposed on Russia by a Jewish banker conspiracy.

Robert Zubrin, the author of several articles about Dugin, points out the similarities between the National Socialism of Hitler and Dugin’s original National Bolshevism. He says Dugin gave up on the idea of his own political party so he could become an adviser to Putin’s United Russia Party. For a time, he worked with the Russian Communist Party, the second largest political party in the country next to Putin’s United Russia.

As part of this transformation, Zubrin says, Putin himself became a spokesman for tradition and morality, even though the Russian government “runs the biggest organized human trafficking operation in the world,” kidnapping Russian girls and selling them around the world as prostitutes. “Nobody should be fooled by Putin’s claim of being a defender of conservative morality,” Zubrin says.

“There’s far more depravity in Russia, including homosexual depravity, than there is here,” he says. “In the Russian army, boyish recruits are subject to homosexual rape by officers as a form of hazing, and the regime protects this.”

Equally troubling, there are reports that Dugin’s vision of a resurgent Russia is built in part on the ideas of Aleister Crowley (1875-1947), a Satanist who described himself as the “Beast 666,” or Antichrist, of the Book of Revelation. “It [is] worth mentioning that in early 90s the National Bolsheviks and their main ideologist Aleksandr Dugin tried to bring Aleister Crowley’s ideas to wide popular masses in Russia with enviable persistence,” one observer of the Russian political scene noted."

“Because that is where Ukraine is? It doesn’t always make sense.”

Your fake hyperventilating for purposes of pro-Putin propaganda is just sheer nonsense. Putin’s putting the Central Military District on combat alert is strictly according to common doctrine. Doing so provides Putin with the flexibility to choose from a number of alternative plans of action.

At the very least, Putin’s combat alert serves to increase concern and alarm among any of the states which Putin may target for Russian offensive operations. This Russian intimidation is used to threaten the Ukraine and anyone who would support the Ukraine.

In the event Putin should currently or later choose to introduce Russian military forces into an overt invasion of the Ukraine or other states, he needs to shakedown the maneuver and logistical units who may sooner or later serve as the strategic second echelon of forces being introduced into the Western theater of operations. A combat alert and exercise does so while providing the added benefit of coercion.

In the event that a full military operation or campaign is undertaken along the fronts of the Western and/or Southern military Districts, the military forces of the Central Military District will be required to reinforce those fronts as the second echelon of forces in any offensive and/or defensive operations. Redeployment from the Central Military District to assembly areas in the Western Military District and/or Southern Military district must be accomplished in the next number of weeks before the advantageous Summer military campaigning weather and road conditions in the Ukraine and elsewhere along the western fronts are ended by the bad weather of the Fall and Winter months.

Forgot to mention the increased Islamic atrocities in Africa.

Next up, China. Watch for them to claim more territory in east and southeast Asia. Although, I doubt they would attack us directly since they hold so much of our debt. But then, think proxies.

I'm 64 and say I have another 10 years of life, bet I see WWIII. It will because of America's weakness, and we know who is responsible for that. That's the one part of the Libertarian platform I've never agreed with - isolationism. America was the safety valve after WWII, but no longer projects the strength nor will it had then. The results of that are now building around the World.

Not so sure weather is that much of a factor. Russia is the original cold weather attack dog. Putin will move when he thinks the political weather is in his favor, IMO. The USA and NATO (neutered organization) will huff and puff and do nothing of substance. The UN will...well, do what the UN does. Cry.

Weather may or may not be nearly as much of a limiting factor as it was in the Second World War in Eastern Europe, but it does remain a less advantageous factor for a military campaign when it is not the prime Summer military campaigning season.

Putin also has to deal with the fact Russia has generally exhausted the supply of military age conscripts due to declining demographics. Consequently, he needs to keep the troop commitments modest and the casualties minimal. Adverse weather conditions quickly melt away divisions and brigades very quickly in day to day filed operations, especially in the absence of a troop replacement system. Putin needs to accomplish his aggressions with prolonged low intensity conflict and/or a very short and economical high intensity combat operation with minimal casualties. Adverse weather greatly increases the risks of prolonging a high intensity combat operation and incurring politically troublesome casualties in the process.

Thanks. It is to be expected Russian forces masquerading as Ukrainian military forces will conduct a false flag attack upon Russian civilian targets along the Russian-Ukrainian border to claim a right for military intervention by the Russian armed forces.

I also have read reports of the same.

Also read of another incursion into US airspace off the coast of California by Russian bombers conducting “practice runs.”

There’s a lot going on in the world and there is a lot we’re not being told.

Just a cautionary note to consider ISIS is from Syria. Russian supports Assad/Syria and Iran.

There’s a lot of dance-cards out there gentlemen and I am not sure which lady is holding them all?
