Plenty of politicians promise on the campaign trail to restore an intangible "American Dream," but one outsider Senate candidate is putting his money where his mouth is and offering to make it a reality for a few lucky supporters.
John King, a Knoxville businessman and long-shot candidate in Tennessee's Republican Senate primary, is looking to bring attention to his campaign to unseat incumbent Lamar Alexander with an "American Dream Giveaway."
Conditional on a highly improbable King victory in the Aug. 7 primary, entrants into the contest could win one of 18 prizes, including a home-starter package, luxury SUVs, and 4x4 trucks, a debt-free home-improvement business, dream vacations, and even several firearms.
I’ll enter in his giveaway, but I still won’t vote for him.
I wonder which of our candidates for Senate is being supported by Sarah Palin, Judge Jeanine Pirro, Senator Rick Santorum and Col. Allen West?
This borders on illegal vote buying.....and this by an obvious “spoiler” candidate whose only goal is to drain votes away from Carr. RINOs will do ANYTHING!!
Well. There is that! LOL!!
Splitter candidates help the political machine every time in a GOP Primary. Boehner had six running against him....
No! We want Joe Carr. NO SPOILER CANDIDATES
Freepers Lumpy {not the guy in the article} is a Knox County used car lot owner. Very Pro-Second and as a sales promotion was known for giving away a firearm with his sale. He became more popular when some person I reckon not knowing him tried to rob him. It was on a same highway where a retired state trooper a few years earlier owned a car lot and was murdered in cold blood by a robber. The trooper was a good guy I traded with him. Lumpy IIRC ended up on the Knox County Commission.
What does the American Dream have to do with being ‘given free stuff’?
This guy’s pushing the Socialist’s Dream.
Not quite. It seems to be coming from his own pockets. A socialist would promise free stuff from someone else's pockets.
Frankly I've not heard of the guy myself and I live close to Knoxville. Reading a few minutes about him he could even be a Freeper. That's something we don't know. I don't think he is a friend of Lamar though. Too many more notable stooges to run to divert votes if that were the case.
That said right now Carr has the best chance to unseat Alexander. I support Carr. If that fails I'll look to Independents in November and see if Carr or King's name is there. I didn't vote for Corker I voted DEM. I will not vote for Alexander either and I didn't the last time.
