Women are still pulling more weight around the house than men, according to the American Time Use Survey data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics Wednesday. However, men are starting to pick up the slack.
The BLS data reveal how much time Americans spent on various activities last year, from household work to leisure and sports as well as time spent providing childcare.
Here are some interesting highlights from last years data:
1. On an average day, 83 percent of women and 65 percent of men spent some time doing household activities such as housework, cooking, lawn care, or financial and other household management.
2. On the days they did household activities, women spent an average of 2.6 hours on such activities, while men spent 2.1 hours.

I’ll call for bralessness!
Truly I like bras ... but not tangled ...
I don't know your wife but I'm bettin, that she's the type that always leaves the toilet seat down, making you have to raise it every time you want to pee.
Don’t know and don’t care.
She handles it.
Then drown the little evil beasties unmercifully in a sink of warm, soapy water, rinse, and hang up to dry.
That'll learn 'em, durn 'em! :-)
With no disrespect, it can be the same with yard work, as in the man doesn’t think the mowing was done properly. Or not folding someone’s undershirts or handkerchiefs in a specified way. Or the trash...don’t get me started on handling of the trash.
Best idea have heard ... I’m going to try that ... If that doesn’t work I’m bringing out the 40 caliber.
Do you know a good sink repair person?
Do you repair sinks? Mine has holes!
women are doing most of the housework is that they want it done a certain way.”
I do it because I don’t want to mess with my car, the yard or anything that requires tools or a ladder to repair. Those are guy things - at least for my generation.
And guys are doing most of the yard work and repairs around the house.
That’s a “collander” dear, not a sink.
And the kids should be out picking cotton and de-tassling corn!
Connect the fasteners and then put it in a mesh bag.

Actually, I could never outwork my husband. When I did work outside the home he worked two jobs. DOD and taught college part time. He started working when he was12 and hasn’t stopped. He will fish, hunt, work on his cars, but then it’s back to work.
I mow because he doesn’t know how to walk a straight line and doesn’t pick up little branches or other things that don’t belong on the grass. He plants our garden and pulls the weeds (90% of the time). I clean, cook, and do laundry (you don’t put bras in the dryer!) My husband doesn’t even know how to use my washer, but he would eventually figure it out. I don’t want him washing my clothes.
I believe only men who were in the Army and Marines know how to really clean properly. I know that sounds judgmental, but Navy and Air Force guys are either blind to dirt or rush missing things. I would rather my husband stay away from dangerous cleaning products and my good things.
LOL! Have they fought back already? Hubby's a master plumber, if that helps.
Tried and it did not work ... These bras deserve a high building ... I’m going to New York ... Look out below!
I took the bras out in the backyard and shot ‘em ... I killed the sink too!
yep ‘collandered’ the sink and choked it.
LOL! I think it's called 'shucking'.
