BREAKING: Texas-Led Border Security Surge 'Imminent'
Breitbart's Texas ^ | June 18, 2014 | Bob Price

Posted on 06/18/2014 5:59:50 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

HOUSTON, Texas—State Representative Debbie Riddle (R-Tomball) told Breitbart Texas she spoke with Governor Rick Perry’s (R-TX) Office and they confirmed the surge to deal with the Texas border crisis is about to begin. Details are not available at this time, but Riddle said, “It is going to happen.”

Riddle spoke with Governor Perry’s office about the issue and was assured it “is going to be coming soon.” She said Governor Perry’s office is working very closely with Lt. Governor David Dewhurst’s office along with the office of House Speaker Joe Straus.

“They are gathering together everything they need to begin this right away,” Riddle said. She told Breitbart Texas that she could not divulge any information about exactly when, how long, and where the surge would be for reasons of operational security. She also could not disclose what the operational objectives would be at this time.

Riddle said, “We are going to feel this particularly here in the Houston area because of Houston’s role as a command and control center for the cartels--for both their drug and human trafficking operations.” She added that Texas Department of Public Safety Director (DPS) Steve McCraw told her last week that Houston is still the hub for these operations.

Riddle said, “Governor Perry is very angry that the feds are doing nothing about this problem.” She went on to say, “I didn’t expect the feds to do anything."(continued)

There is a funding issue, the legislature is going to have to convene in a special session to find the money to fund this effort...There is NO way around it now...

Even though this sounds like a slow road to China, and that this should have been done a long time ago...

The chess pieces have move a little more...The oppositions has just played its Queen in a “political” gambit that needs to have our side see who is to be sacrificed to solve this problem...In our favor...

How that is played, and who is to be played is anyone’s guess at this point...I’m still looking into this in my information circle...I had a feeling this was rumbling, and now that it is more public, then yeah, the outcome is becoming clearer...

We either get this done, or we can go ahead and write off a lot of things that some assume will happen before the end of the year...

Here’s the thing about doing that...

There are limitations to “calling out” the Texas National Guard units...

Number one, funding for this deployment...

You have to pay these troops, how long will the deployment last...How do we logistically work this, and to be honest, if any of this becomes common knowledge the opposition WILL re-configure and probably go to NM, or AZ and that will pizz off those states as we may have to coordinate our enforcement with them to mitigate any adjustments the bad guys will take when we lower the boom...

Number two...

What will the mission be??? Will they be passing out water and MRE’s and take the illegals to camps to be immediately released on a promise to return for deportation hearings???

Or will they be immediately processed and deported back to their country of origin???

That takes money the state of Texas WILL NOT GET from the Feds...There is no way Texas will be able to sustain this effort for long...

And there will be a lot of effort to torpedo this from ALL sides...We will be fighting the cartels and the organizations, gangs who will lose money in this, and the Feds who will do whatever they can to keep Texas in check...

That’s my immediate take on this...

Not to mention that what if this effort does not work???

Then what???

That’s the big challenge, and one I do not feel very good about as far as any sustainable, more than just a few weeks, of “boots on the border”...

Hey, that’s kinda catchy!!! “Boots on the Border!!!”

Gov. Perry can divert gasoline tax receipts from the Federal government intra state to pay for the effort.

No authority?

Too bad!

If the government Patent Office can take away the Redskins trademark based on political correctness, the governor of a state can act to protect the borders of his sovereign state in the face of the deliberate actions of the Federal government to compromise them.

Two can play the leftists’ game.

Looks pretty cut and dry to me...

Now if you can pay for it...That’s the big deal there...

All I see are putdowns and excuses for what needs to be done. Quit looking behind you and turn face to the future and the consequences of what could happen if nothing changes. Would you rather face this problem now united or later alone as individuals? If any man, in this case Perry, will lead let him step forward. While waiting for the “right” man to lead, we are losing our state to outside invaders.

The federal government under this administration has failed us. Most will agree this cause is just and we have the right to protect our interests from outside invaders. So having agreed we are under invasion from the outside, let us unite and quickly move forward to secure our border with Mexico and repulse this invasion.

The expense of securing the border can be handled through a one cent raise in state sales tax or gasoline tax or many other ways. Maybe we should deduct the expense from what we send the feds each period.

We have the economic power to do this. But whether we have the Texas spirit and determination to get her done remains the question. It is time for Texas to lead. Do not let this opportunity pass.

“She also could not disclose what the operational objectives would be at this time.”

This is not to keep it a secret from the wetbacks. This is
to keep Obama from stepping in and shutting it down. And
you know he will eventually.

(Perry and party)

“Stop pretending to be surprised at just how LOW Obama is willing to go!”

You actually make a very good point here...It applies to all who are critical, but at the same time giving Perry, and those who adore him, a pass on something this important...

I’ll say it again, it is critical to fund this deployment of force (if that is the need), and how sustainable is that effort...

You can huff and puff all day long, and if you don’t blow the house down, your 15 minutes gets used up real quick, and not to the benefit of this state...

Another thing...

Let’s say we do deploy troops to the border...

Are YOU willing to put up with the delays, the proof of citizenship questions??? Show us your papers please???

I wonder how many people, or how few that actually live in those border towns like Ruidosa, Texas...Presidio, Texas, Candilaria, Texas...(Yeah, find that place on the map...) how they will be effected by this enforcement...

As much as I like to get this problem somewhat resolved, or under control...There are liberties to protect, and I do not believe there will be a lot of people happy otherwise...

We are damned if we do, and damned if we do not...

And whomever orders this is going to be damned regardless...

I certainly won't be voting for Perry in the upcoming November election.

Mostly because he isn't running. A conservative is running for Governor this time. Perry is getting out while the getting is good.

Texas has the weakest governor in the Union. That is by design. The top strongest political office in Texas is Lt. Governor. Governors can't do much in Texas. They can't even pardon criminals without permission from a board. Thank God.

There is no way Texas will be able to sustain this effort for long...

Call for citizen volunteers. Declare a state of emergency and get us waivers from work. Kind of like jury duty, you know? You could pay them a 'minimal' per diem for their service, or trade their service for some foreclosed Texas real estate. I would go for that!

We could work rotating shifts, 2 weeks or a month at a time? And to those who say they can't afford time off from work, well, can you afford more of our jobs or your job being taken by illegals? How is that working out for you?

I think the flow over the border would slow pretty quickly with even a minimal amount of effort.

We tried that funding mechanism...It wasn’t so much an effort to buy materials to build a fence, it was to elect people who ran on a “build the fence” campaign plank, that have failed us...

Now the problem is a little more overt...More of a human tragedy...but, like all tragedies, is it our responsibility, and humanity that needs to suffer for their illegality???

Once you get past that hump, you’ll feel a lot better...

Good point, although I am sure most of the legal citizens in the border towns are sick of it as well but they MUST be taken into consideration. As far as the 'green card' workers who cross on a regular basis, I am afraid it is time for some things to change and put some American's to work. That is overly simplistic I know, but it needs to be addressed.

Diverting revenue to the Feds requires legislative approval...The governor can only propose the idea...

The Redskins have only been pressured by the court of public opinion and the media supporting that narrative...It is a game of information diversion...

I thought the redskins should change their name to the “Thinskins” in honor of the schmups they usually play for in that area...

But getting back on topic...

If your idea were to come to fruition...And federal revenue were to be siphoned off for a state issue...

You do realize that the Feds will respond with the full weight of the Union behind them...And I am not talking about just a bunch of sternly worded letter either...

Maybe that IS what the Feds want to have happen???

They are hedging their bets we will not do this...

They might be wrong about “our” resolve this time...

And this is not something to prop up Perry by any means...

This is bigger than Texas (pardon the pun)...

“Join or Die”

Why don’t we get to the real heart of the problem and hold those really accountable responsible instead of always sacrificing someone(s)? It will come out in the wash. The country will survive the impeachment or arrest of Obama in a much better way than if nothing is done.

Mine too and I am aware of logistics to problems; but you have to finally make that decision. Are you going to do the right thing or not?

You are right about the “full weight” of the Feds coming down on a State for doing that.

But legally, the Feds under the Constitution have a responsible to protect the borders and to protect from invasions. It does not say “armed invasions.”

Perhaps legally the can could be made in court that the State is only doing the job of the Federal government, under emergency circumstances, and Federal funds should be used to reimburse the State for doing so.

The Feds are breaking their own laws by Executive Order, and the President is defying anyone to hold him to account.

In other words, he will do what he wants until someone stops him.

Two can play that game.

You have an excellent point about the risks involved.

And if the Feds came down hard on Texas in any way, there is no telling what could escalate from that.

I think the Bundy Ranch situation was instructional in that regard.

The one common theme that is emerging is that there is lawlessness emanating from all levels of this regime, including the engendering of very real security threats to this nation by active implementation of the goals of radical Islam, using the resources of the American taxpayer to their own hurt.

Evil succeeds only if good men do nothing.
