The head of the Tennessee State Museum says that it was understood that Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) was not going to run for reelection, which is why she was not worried about the political ramifications of a traveling exhibit promoting his historic career.
"When we first started talking about the exhibit, there was a general understanding that he probably wasn't going to run," museum head Lois Riggins-Ezzell told Tennessees NewsChannel5.
But as was the case with Sen. Thad Cochran in Mississippi, that likelihood changed as supporters urged him to run again - keeping the seat safe for Republicans.
Even though Alexander decided to run for reelection, the exhibit was still scheduled to move forward.
But those plans were canceled after an investigation by NewsChannel5 revealed emails between the museum and Alexander's campaign about timing and funding for the exhibit.

You’re welcome.
Both him & Corker need to go! When’s Corker up for re-election?
Go Joe Carr!!
Alexander, in his book, declared simply, “Two terms and OUT !” Fred Thompson served two (in fact, just one term and two years of a partial term), Bill Frist served two, Corker is in his second, but Lamar! contradicts himself and now wants a third so he can use the Senate as a retirement home (he will be almost 81 at the end of the next term).
Vote Carr !
Corker is up in 2018. We’ll see if he runs again, though he never stated how many terms he was going to serve (unlike Lamar!).
A traveling exhibit of Lamar!'s life and career??? Who does he think he is? King Tut?
yeah they had to break both his arms to make him run
do I really need the /s ???
I believe the plan is for Lamar! to win then retire and the next RINO steps in.
Happily, that plan is in quite a bit of danger.
Here is another suggestion. Using BING search type in Lamar Alexander +Skeleton Closet and click on the first link Lamar Alexander's Skeleton Closet. I won't link to because some do not like the source. However the information contained inside that article was stories in the local papers here in Knoxville back when we had two daily newspapers.
