The Gay Gene study had a problem - it was not reproducible.

I just wish soemone would say…”If you want to be gay, be gay! Just quit telling me over and over that you’re gay because I don’t give a sh**!”

I'm saying that it's time for the LGBT community to start moving beyond genetic predisposition as a tool for gaining mainstream acceptance of gay rights.

Yes, comrades, that piece of propaganda has served its purpose - now it's time to determine which new 'truths' will currently serve the revolution.

This points up once again, that we don’t know what causes homosexuality. Lady Gag can sing they are both that way, but she can gag on her opinion. Lady Gag doesn’t know any more about this subject than you or I do. Heck, she has a big fan base among homosexuals, so feels like she should pander to them like a politician.

And the evidence for genetic predisposition is overwhelming

No it is not.

I'm so tired of all this homosexual stuff.

If you are confused about your sex, drop your pants and we can tell you what your sex is.

If you can't accept that, then you need to see a shrink.

If you insist on not accepting that, then do what you want but please shut up about it.
You are not normal, I don't accept you as normal, and your continued insistence that I do so only makes you less so.

Post-Buckley TNR has certainly made its choice for ‘gay’.

Sad ending to a magnificent legacy; it dies with a lisp instead of a bang.

I wouldn’t say the “born that way” argument is “overwhelming”. But Perry does stumble upon a valid question. If an alcoholic can give up that “lifestyle” and is encouraged to by nearly everyone despite his genetic alignment, why is it so wrong to suggest gays should do the same thing?

Gays argue that nobody ever *chooses* to be gay (another talking point I am not sold on) but, if that is true, why are gays so busy attacking any programs designed to turn gays away from the “lifestyle”? Can you imagine if alcoholics sabotaged AA and tried to sue them out of existence for merely wanting to help people who didn’t want to be controlled by alcohol?

“And the evidence for genetic predisposition is overwhelming.”

Funny, why haven’t the gays shown that overwhelming evidence to scientists then?

The homosexualists know that their lives are a choice and have known since they started their protests years ago and proclaimed that they should not be discriminated against based on their sexual ...wait for it...PREFERENCE.

Now they fear that designation because a choice implies the potential for a cure or prevention, and that means that the presence of self-proclaimed homosexuals in the population would be reduced dramatically.

I wonder if it is legal if you say “I think you are a perv” while you bake and deliver the wedding cake? Or do you not even get the freedom to SAY that? Or to think that? How intrusive is this law that the Marxists-in-Charge seem to think is Law of the Land? What are the penalties for ignoring it? Would the Supremes really hold you guilty, if it went to the top?

Most families have someone in their midst who is gay. We do. We love that person and I certainly believe they were born that way and did not wake up one day and decide to be gay.

That being said the gay lifestyle is a difficult life to lead and as much as the progressives have fought for gay marriage etc it still is considered by most to be an abnormal lifestyle and is not really socially acceptable. Choosing not to engage in it might be a wise choice. Rick Perry has a good point.

After eons of homosexuality (abbreviated H) being taboo and subject to being ostracized, the vanguards of our culture now says H is normal and OK. People are even applauded and called “courageous” for “coming out”. It is almost like they won the prize for drinking a half a case of beer and passing out at the high school party. Much like culture telling our young girls to loosen up and cast their virginity to the wind, thus getting attention from all the young bucks who want another notch in their belts, the aspiring queers are actually celebrated for a short period of time. The question that is uniformly ignored is, “What then?”.

What are the consequences of identifying as H . . . or banging the whole football team? Can you run from the internal guilt and shame? Will you be able to overcome the obvious health risks? Just what kind of benefits will this lifestyle bring? Will you be disappointed and/or isolated from those you love? What's next? What about 10 or 20 years down the road?

I don't ever intend to hurt or embarrass a H. I would appreciate the respect of the culture to allow me to quietly keep my distance because I am vastly different from the H community. But I actually feel sorry for the young, impressionable people who, as history proves, are being set up for a great deal of heartache, guilt and difficulty. I have never been approached for advice about it, but I think I would raise many of the questions mentioned above to them. Our depraved culture has a long history of selling snake oil to people who are not well grounded in their values. Such licentious behavior usually comes with a very high price tag . . . eventually . . . in this life AND afterward.
