The pipeline is critical to Canada, which needs infrastructure in place to export its growing oil sands production. Alberta has the worlds third largest oil reserves, with 170 billion barrels of proven reserves.
I did not see it nor should it be a proxy for the relationship. It is, after all, one pipeline. We already have a lot of pipelines that cross our border, Clinton said

How is that "weighing in"?? She didn't say anything.
Where ?
How many ?
The only one I know of that I'm sure is still operational is the one on our southern border, pumping mexicans and others into our country.
Yep.
Hillary Clinton keeps coy on Keystone

In an interview with the Globe and Mail , a Canadian publication, the former secretary of state and possible 2016 Democratic frontrunner declined to give her personal opinion about whether America should proceed with the pipeline.
I cant respond, she said.
She has so far avoided wading too deep into the issue, which is a controversial one even among Democrats as the progressive base vehemently opposes the pipeline, while others in the party and beyond see it as a good way to grow jobs.
Speaking more broadly about the pipeline issue, Clinton said, This particular decision is a very difficult one because there are so many factors at play.
I cant really comment at great length because I had responsibility for it and its been passed on and it wouldnt be appropriate, but I hope that Canadians appreciate that the United States government the Obama administration is trying to get it right, she continued. And getting it right doesnt mean you will agree or disagree with the decision, but that it will be one based on the best available evidence and all of the complex local, state, federal, interlocking laws and concerns.
I was just wondering this myself! I think she has a few pounds over any little pipeline, but that's just my opinion....

And for those just carrying crude from Canada:
Disgraceful.
Well, on the bright side, she’s not nearly as good of a politician as her husband so we can watch her dance around on this issue and flub responses for the next year or so.
Isn’t it helpful that SHE doesn’t think Canada should care about it?
A Clinton specialty. Ignore reality and spread whatever brand of BS is helpful to her.
We already have a lot of pipelines that cross our border, Clinton said.

I hope she never finds out that remaining silent tends to improve public approval ratings.
Just keep pontificating on everything, old woman.
That was some “answer”. I’m beginning to sense a real trend of “what difference does it make?” in this privileged witch’s thinking.
I really think she sees every inconvenient problem as just a bother to her.
Since the media she deals with never challenges non-answers, why would she think it was bad?
She can’t express an opinion?? Which office is she running for again?
It’s called talking out of both sides of her mouth.
Her comments, to me, are just advertising for dollars - in other words, her “real” opinion is for sale.
For the uninitiated in Clintonistaspeak, stories are planted to provide the Clintons and their sycophants with the ability to say, “We’ve already gone over that. It’s old news.” This covers topics such as cattle futures, Gennifer Flowers et al., zigzagging under sniper attack, and Whitewater. One of the corollaries is saying something on a subject that amounts to nothing in order to be able to say, “The President/First Lady/Senator/Secretary has already addressed that topic and has moved on.”
“It is, after all, one pipeline. We already have a lot of pipelines that cross our border,”
Which is another way of saying: “What difference does it make?”
If John Kerry can do it so can she. And being a woman she can change her mind without reproach ;)
Remember that for years the Greenies tried to stop the Alaska Pipeline and were successful.
I said that when the Arabs have another oil embargo the pipeline would be built.
They embargoed the oil not long after and the Alaska Pipeline was rushed through over the weeping and wailing of the Greenies.
All the gloom and doom situations that the Greenies said would happen did not happen.
