Knowing all of this is one thing. And be sure that EVERY Governor knows that they have similar if not identical powers.

Actually DOING it is another thing entirely.

They’re worried about the optics. Calling out the Guard to stop children... and there’s CNN... “The SOLDIERS are ARRESTING these poor, unfortunate CHILDREN!!! The Republican Governor has sent SOLDIERS TO ARREST CHILDREN!!!”

You can see how the narrative will go from there.

For the record, I agree. Send in the Guard, seal the border, and stop/detain/deport anyone coming across illegally.

And arrest the agents of ANY agency that facilitates, aids, or otherwise helps this to continue.

But again... good luck with that.

Don’t arrest, don’t detain, just prohibit entry.

I like the optics of an American protecting American children.

Having the governor make a yes/no call on this is far more preferable than calling for a special legislative session, which is THEATER. I’m not interested in theater, only where people stand & what they will do to protect my country.
