If we were to remove IRAN - alone - from the world scene, in an instant, Islamic Terrorism in the world would be reduced immediately by 90%!
5,000 Americans lost their lives in vain doing an impossible mission (bringing civilization to the Middle East). An immense destruction of lives, treasure, and national prestige that strengthened the radicals of Sunni Al-Qaeda and Shiite Iran, making the world noticeably more dangerous. If Saddam was still in power, Al Qaeda would still be hiding in holes in the ground, and Iran would not dare develop nukes.

The government in Baghdad is in no position to give or not to give anything to anyone. If a loose group of poorly coordinated islamists is capable of walking in with rifles and taking cities, what can the Iranian army accomplish, if they come with tanks? Iraq is being carved into spheres of influence as we speak, and the dividing lines lie only where the defenders can defend them.
No, this is WWII.
We allied with the evil USSR to defeat Germany and helped the Soviets take over several countries. We should have let Germany and Russia kill each other.

I had an interesting chat recently with a combat vet—Gulf War 1, Afghanistan since 2005. Here is his idea of reorganizing the military situation.
1) Support the Kurds, get treaty to put our forces in there and phase out Ramstein in Germany. Molify Turkey with more business at Insurlik Airport.
2) In general allow countries in ME to realign into natural ethnic/religious boundries getting rid of artificial colonialist divide-and-conquer boundaries.
3) Rebuild and enhance Indian alliance and dump Pakistan.
4) Get out of Afghanistan soon.
5) No US ground troops in Iraq.
There was more, but I can’t think of it this late. Well, what do you think folks?
1) Obtain Nukes
2) Negotiate with the faggot West ad infinatum
3) Pretend to be nice.
4) Support all world Terror groups (NOTE UPSURGE).
5) Extend hegemony over Lebanon (via Hizbollah).
6) Extend hegemony over Syria (via Hizbollah).
7) Extend hegemony over Iraq by “helping” the West fight Al-Qeada types.
8) Fomenting instability all along (and inside) Israel's borders (via HAMAS and Islamic Jihad).
9) Maintain bonds with Russia.
10) Keep President Obama in power, at all cost.
