Somewhere in between the stacked boxes of laminate flooring and the discount pots and pans, it hit me: This Virginia Costco, where hundreds of people lined up half a mile from the Pentagon Saturday morning for the chance to meet Hillary Clinton, is the best symbol of the upcoming 2016 presidential election Ive yet seen.
The throngs of people were officially there for Clinton to sign their discount copies of Hard Choices, the former Secretary of States book about her time in the Obama administration.
In reality, Clinton herself was the least visible part of the whole, circus-like event.
The average Costco patron couldnt even sneak a glimpse of her, as her book signing took place behind a giant fortress of water bottles and paper towel rolls, built by Costco employees using forklifts in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
All that traveled over that bulk-product brick wall was the occasional laugh was it Clintons? Or someone elses? It was hard to know for sure and the sound of clicking press cameras. Clinton fans werent allowed to bring theirs past the security checkpoint.

these idiots are sickening.
i wouldn't let my dog piss on that evil hag's book, much less stand in line to buy it.
I’ve heard that, while Hillary’s book has had good sales numbers in terms of wholesalers shipping to bookstores and other retailers, that actual retails sales to actual retail customers are very disappointing.
Look for Hillary’s book to be in the sale bin before too long.
You couldn’t have said it better.
We MUST have her as our next president.
I think this was the location at which Sonya Sotomayor stopped by to see Hillary.
Boy, that must have cost the Clintons a small fortune.
i commented there. the Clintons paid stooges are out in force attacking every non friendly comment. They are soooo dumb to think coordinated attacks aren’t noticeable.
These “throngs” of “books” supposedly signed by Hillary or maybe an autopen are going to be thronging to ebay. Watch for it!
Yep she had no clue Hitlery was going to be there.
I’ve heard some commentators say Hillary will get overwhelming support from women voters across the board, due to wanting to elect a woman president.
I find it hard to believe that conservative women would support a hard liberal candidate such as Hillary, just because she is a woman.
I’ve no doubt that liberal Democrat, upper west side of Manhattan types, bi-coastal liberals, etc. will vote overwhelmingly for Hillary. But I can’t see her make much headway among women who would not ordinarily vote for a liberal.
Posted this on another Hillary/Costco thread:
Ive been a Costco member since it was The Price Club here in NY, 15-20 or so years ago.
Might be time to switch to BJs...like Bill did.
I believe there is an element of money-laundering in the politician-book-publishing business. Especially where the Clintons are concerned. Of course I don't think they eat a sandwich without some money laundering involved.
They voted for the jerkoff in the white house now.
Hopefully you are right - but the American voter has let us down so often these days.
Costco is owned and founded by a lib Dummycrat. Of course, to rich white libs, they turn the other way as long as these hypocrites line their pockets with money.
I’ve seen some voting results from 2008 and 2012, which suggest that married women, and conservative women, voted for the Republican in each election.
Single women, who tend to be liberal, voted overwhelmingly for Obama, and will do so for Hillary or any other Democrat.
But sensible, married, conservative, family oriented, religious women, will not be excited about the likes of Hillary Clinton as the first woman president.
behind a giant fortress of water bottles and paper towel rolls
To keep her safe from the Giant Squirrels
Definitely showing her age.
I can’t get the picture to post.
Was Hillary signing the Book or was the Ghostwriter signing the Book?
great question !
