by Sharyl Attkisson on June 14, 2014 in News 2 Comments The news came late in the day on Friday the 13th.
According to the House Ways and Means Committee, the IRS reports having lost former IRS manager Lois Lerners emails to and from other IRS employees sent between January of 2009 and April of 2011 due to a computer crash.
In light of the disclosure, these are some of the logical requests that should be made of the IRS:
Please provide a timeline of the crash and documentation covering when it was first discovered and by whom; when, how and by whom it was learned that materials were lost; the official documentation reporting the crash and federal data loss; documentation reflecting all attempts to recover the materials; and the remediation records documenting the fix. This material should include the names of all officials and technicians involved, as well as all internal communications about the matter.....

“You do realize that every major corporation that owes taxes will now consider having a convenient computer crash as well? That is, unless everyone from the tech involved up to the top levels are all terminated without benefits and faced prison time as a corporation with this excuse would face.”
The only question Lerner and those IRS officials should be asked is if they understand their rights as they are being arrested by the House Sergeant of Arms and hauled off to be detained INDEFINITELY until they tell everything they know to the House oversight committee.
What a steaming pile. The emails are all backed up on multiple servers running RAID arrays. Short of an EMP taking down the grid the likelihood of this happening is Zero. Try this little “ I lost my emails trick” when dealing with FedGov and enjoy your vacation in Leavenworth....
Wow! An investigative journalist doing actual reporting and asking questions of the 0bama administration. No wonder CBS fired her.
Did you see the New IRS chief testifying before Issa’s committee (I think it was Issa). The congressman from Utah was grilling the IRS chief who kept repeating it will be long time before he can furnish the emails because they have to be REDACTED carefully.....wow, this regime has no shame.
A woman called in to the Mark Levin show who said she worked for the private contractor who supplies IT to the IRS. She said the IRS has never reported any problem with their systems to her company.
That is not surprising..
Lies are the hardest to cover up...
Because one needs more lies to cover the initial lies.
Like they say cover-ups are usually worse crimes than the original crime. I can’t wait for Holder to be gone. But that will need a republican in the White House.
Another caller to the Levin show said he worked for the IRS specifically on IT issues. Everything is backed up daily and once a week the do a Gold Backup which is sent to a secure facility for archiving. Bottom line according to him is that at most a half a day’s e-mails could be lost and then only if more than one server crashed.
Darn the luck. I was going to send the IRS my quarterly tax payment...but my computer crashed and I can’t locate the records. Oh well.
The IRS has always been a weapon to be used against Americans. Barry just turned it into a weapon of mass destruction to be used against Americans when he used it to nuke conservatives during our fraudulent “elections”.
Congress won’t do anything.... Cowards and perverts is all they are.
I get so angry when I hear the IRS excuse that emails are lost because a computer crashed. Let me spell it out simply, if your computer crashes, do you lose all of you emails? No, you can read your email on your phone, your tablet or your computer, A crash of anyone of those will not prevent you from accessing the email on any other device. THEY ARE LYING TO US!!!!
And the emails also exist in the mailbox of whoever you are corresponding with so it can be gotten from there. STOP THE LYING!!!!!
The incisive question should be ‘do you promise to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth’.
Then, do you want an orange or a blue jumpsuit.
Someone could have a lot of fun if they said that computer hackers had stolen Lerner’s emails before the IRS deleted them.
But then again, since the NSA almost certainly has Lerner’s emails, the whole thing, not just the metadata, they have the choice to either kick them down in their entirety, or have their agency take an even bigger hit than it is going to already.
Darn the luck. I was going to send the IRS my quarterly tax payment, [which was stored on Lois Lerner's computer, right next to the emails]...but my her computer crashed and I cant locate the records. Oh well.
Fixed it for you. :)
