The official topic of the conference, emblazoned on materials handed out to guests gathered here at a luxury Norwegian-inspired resort, was The Future of American Leadership.
But the unofficial theme was made clear not long into breakfast on Friday, when a guest asked Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky the question on everyones mind: Is Hillary beatable?(SNIP) This is the place where, I believe, the future of the party is really going to come out of, said Anthony Scaramucci, a New York hedge fund manager and former Romney fund-raising bundler. This is the Republican Partys Bell Labs. This is our R & D division.
The weekend drew dozens of such men and women, most of them veterans of Mr. Romneys formidable presidential finance team, which raised more money than any other in Republican history. (SNIP) A case in point: Former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida, who is increasingly the preferred candidate of Romney veterans, could not attend because the Utah event conflicted with a gala in Miami for his education foundation.

He should run as a Democrat.
It would be his only chance to ever sit in the Oval Office.
Good man.
He’s just in the wroing party, is all.
It won’t matter because they will cheat....again.
Mitts place didn’t give mitt focus...
Mitt must have confused Hillary for a conservative.
He is in the Great Hair Party.
I’m sure there was nothing but Great Hair at this conference.
Mitt, Republicans and Focus in the same sentence.
I’m sure we could come up with more three-word absurdities.
Cubs, Sweep, Series.
Hillary, Bikini, Thong.
Detroit, Growth, Prosperity.
There aren’t enough hedge fund managers in the country to win an election, you big dummy.
NYT and PMSNBC promoting Losers again.
You left out the “h” in “sit.”
It's "lowest common denominator" marketing stuff.
It's assuming that we think Hillary is that "popular," couldn't be beaten, that we're dumb enough to buy it. It's once AGAIN presenting itself as way to vote "against" such a terrible thing as Hillary, never mind what you're voting for.
If Romney is a Republican, I have no business in the Republican party.
For certain sure I have no business voting for collectivist leftists such as Romney, no matter what party they're in.
Well as the ugly woman candidate they think that if a Republican dares to criticize her they can label him as a sexist.
A uniparty circle jerk session.
Focus? No, you’re looking for a new shade of lipstick to put on the pig. Go home. Meet with real people for a change. That would give you focus! You won’t find them at $$$ retreats, or Country Clubs nor most RP state groups.
The focus of the party needs to be gaining control of Congress next year.
Instead, they’re holding another glorified beauty contest for potential Presidential candidates.
