Some Metro Detroiters Wait In Line Outside For A Week In Every Kind Of Weather For New Air Jordans

ROYAL OAK (CBS Detroit) Metro Detroit has experienced every kind of weather since early Monday — with bouts of heat, humidity and torrents of rain. Few people got the kind of up close and personal view of the weather as the dozen or so young men settled into camp chairs outside sneaker emporium Burn Rubber in downtown Royal Oak. Some have been there since Monday, waiting for a chance to buy commemorative Air Jordan sneakers. They’ll be released Saturday. There’s no guarantee the store will get more than a few pairs, or what size will arrive.

“Those EBT cards buy Air Jordans too —”

Here in Californicator Land, the EBT cards out here can buy about anything. You can even get cash at ATMs.

Remarkable to say, and from both the picture an the article, shy of quite a few years, this looks like the kind of amiable crowd that gathers at my local Gander Mountain hoping for the occasional jackpot day when a shipment of .22 LR ammo actually arrives. Also looks like there will be about as many shootings and fights in that crowd as there is in the Gander Mountain .22 LR crowd. The big difference is the cops don’t even pay any attention to the Gander Mountain crowd.

Why wait in line? Find a line waiter wearing your shoe size, then mug him and steal his new Jordans when he leaves the safety of the line.

If they cut them off around the country then heroin/cocaine sales, marijuana useage, drug addiction, alcoholism, and lottery sales would fall off precipitously.

I'm sure there are a few that going to do just that.

I waited in line for two hours to get Dr. Laura’s autograph at a book signing. I can’t handle being in my feet in one spot like that any more. I used to stand in line for an hour for free movies in Seattle, but after a few disappointments, I decided that my time was worth more than that. I always had a book.

People in the used book business camp out 24 hours in advance for the Friends of Seattle Library book sales at Magnuson Park. I know because I was working at the sales and had a chance to observe them. Increasingly they hire people to do it for them. Some of these people speak English, but I doubt if they read it. They have smart phone apps that tell them if the book is one the boss wants. They work in teams, so if somebody has to go to the bathroom or something, others hold their place.
Some booksellers still show up in person. They read in line, of course.

If Wilt Chamberlin had shoes, they might enable you to get more women. Just saying.

“If they cut them off around the country then heroin/cocaine sales, marijuana useage, drug addiction, alcoholism, and lottery sales would fall off precipitously.”

But that would be evil to end the need to have all the liberals who earn a paycheck getting and alloting our tax money to the scumbags to buy tennis shoes, drugs, alcohol, lottery tickets and other vices we fund as tax payer.

The way this scam was facilitated was by changing from “Food Stamps” to EBT cards.

It was hard to justify taking Food Stamps in exchange for tennis shoes — but EBT can justify the purchase of anything — Electronically Bought Today.

Depends on the concentration of Amish in the line. The depicted line and accompanying article show few Amish as, indeed, is true of the Gander Mountain .22 LR line I described. Hence, either no cops, as at Gander Mountain, or a few good natured ones, as described in the article. Odd. what a sufficient concentration of Trayvons does.

Little children with nothing to do. Sad.

The thing that makes my head spin is their generation has over 50% unemployment and yet they have enough money to buy $200+ sneakers?!

Where in the wide world of sports did they get enough excess cash to pay for this, mom and dad? None of those in the photo look like they are qualified to even flip burgers so that money had to come from somewhere, and what kind of upbringing did they have to think this kind of acquisition is rational when they obviously do not make the money required to have that kind of spare change.
