Wisconsin Police Chief Allegedly Uses Tea Party Activist's Info for Porn, Dating Sites

Campbell Police Chief Tim Kelemen is on paid leave while authorities investigate whether he broke the law when he used a tea party activist's information online.

Board members during a special meeting Thursday voted unanimously to take action against the embattled chief after public outcry that he lost credibility and trust from many in the small community.

It's a routine move when an employee is under investigation and not an indication Kelemen is guilty of a crime, said his attorney Jim Birnbaum.

"It's neither surprising nor something we don't understand," he said.

Kelemen's attorney contends tea party members harassed town and police officials for months after board members in October passed a local ordinance prohibiting speech-related behavior on an Interstate 90 pedestrian overpass. The chief viewed the activity as a public safety risk; Luce and another tea party member argue the ordinance trampled on their rights and responded with a federal lawsuit.

Evidently taking legal action against government officials is "harassment."

That chief of police made a threat.

The chief made it clear he was one step away from fabricating a crime against his political enemies and he was clear there was nothing his political enemies could do about it.

This isn’t this chiefs first rodeo with trumped up criminal charges.

He needs to be fired and then prosecuted under 18USC242.

Hopefully, that investigation gives context to the chief's conduct, Birnbaum said.

I guess his lawyer is saying he did it but he was justified?

It goes beyond that.

Someone better start taking a close look at the city attorney, prosecuting attorneys and judges.

This clown knew he had backing when he made the threat.

Stupid Police Chief ought to be fired for demonstrating both a lack of judgement and for using town property to commit these cyber crimes. What a dirtbag.

The media doesn’t care about partisan witchhunts when the targets are members of the Tea Party.
