One of the many bad effects of using scrip as money is that debt becomes a plastic sort of idea.
Just as banks can, through fractional reserve lending multiply money, citizens can also compound debt.
We keep acting like “the debt” is a real thing that will someday be paid, when it is obvious a) that it won’t and b) it will be used to enslave millions.
Without real money, society will slowly dissolve.
I see this as one of many inevitable results of what happens when a nation is built on monetary policy instead of a real economy.
