Romans didn’t have M16’s or F16’s ... and tanks. True, but they did have the Gladius Hispaniensis Sword, Plate Armor and a Professional Military Force.
The Roman Legionnaire was superseded by Calvary with Stirrups, which meant Lancers and Calvary Archers.
