House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) will not run to replace House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.).
The conservative favorite said in a statement Thursday he was not going to challenge Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) or Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) for the No. 2 spot in House GOP leadership.

Why would he want to be Boehner’s lackey? The ML has only the power the Speaker gives him, the Speakership is an autocratic position.
What Jeb’s refusal tells us is that Boehner wouldn’t agree to any change in course.
Sessions has dropped out now from lack of conservative support.
Jordan or Labrador may be the sacrificial conservative. It would be great if the “sacrificial conservative” won. K Street would be a disaster zone.
