NRCC Chairman Greg Walden (R-Ore.) said the national party was ready to help David Brat but have had trouble reaching him.
Multiple times Wednesday, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Walden texted and called Brat to say congratulations and offer assistance, but Brat’s voicemail was full and by 6 p.m. Wednesday, they had not yet spoken.
Walden said the GOP only had Brat’s cell as a point of contact but expected to connect with him soon over phone and in Washington.

They need to be calling the troops to get the border situation under control NOW. I see our country heading toward utter disaster, out of control chaos.

I happened to be driving through Richmond and heard him call in to his local talk radio station. He was thanking them for their support and getting congratulations. Nice to see he has his priorities straight and let the GOPe wait.
At this point he is only taking calls and talking to Republicans. So it may be a while before he calls back. :)

Well Boehner and Walden, you’ll just have to put the “let the coercion begin” on the back burner. Senator Brat is busy thanking the little people.
Bonehead is trying to find out is Brat is going to vote for him
as speaker. That’s all it is.

I think Brat is sending them a message. Something to the effect of I’m not interested in joining your little club.

IMO, Brat only needs to listen to his own grass roots supporters & they are in more than just one state.
I would NOT answer the phone for the current crop of GOP leaders, either. I am 74 & have been a registered Republican since I was 21. NOT very proud of most of those out there in Washington now.
After trying to listen to PBS this afternoon, I had a small epiphany:
The definition of CONSERVATIVE that a Liberal pushes & the definition of a CONSERVATIVE that the old line GOP adheres to and the version of CONSERVATIVE that I believe is 3 entirely definitions.
Completely different. Not even close. NOT repairable.
Because of the FAAAAR left & out of control Democrats in the USA—from the White Hut on down, people in the GOP who claim to be ‘Conservative are really more in the middle—or slightly left of Moderate. They most assuredly are NOT CONSERVATIVE.
Perhaps another way to state this is:
CONSERVATIVE with all capital letters & the other version with all small letters.
CONSERVATIVES are starting to fight back.
This isn’t the only person who will be toppled off their throne this election season.
The very good thing is that Virginia’s primary came early & many candidates & voters can rethink what we can actually accomplish in 2014 & get set for 2016.
Meanwhile-—Congrats to Brat.
Let’s hope he doesn’t succumb to a wad of cash waved under his nose.
It doesn’t matter. Just so his constituents can. The other guys aren’t listening to theirs anyway.
